'The spell damage dealt by players now scales with the level of magic weapon the player is using'

What the ****? so the spell is only as powerful as the weapon you use??
This is crazy if this is the case. Any mage weapon over level 80 is incredibly difficlut to obtain Seismic sets are 3b+ and will likely rise now, even virtus weapons are expensive

Does this mean that All spells above 80 are effectively useless? also does this completely devalue a persons mage level? Will a person with 80 mage and a lv 80 weapon have the same Dps as a person with level max mage?

The weapon should give a slight boost but the real damage should be based upon the Magic skill level and the spell being cast. Making the weapon have more influence than the skill only means that the rich have an advantage than the skilled. True, that not everyone bought such high level weapons but rather got lucky from a drop but sadly, most people who hold such weapons, bought them. This idea also negates your promise that your skill level will hold more influence towards damage. Does anyone remember that promise on the BTS video that was trying to say Overloads will now be effective again? (not referring the Overloads in general, just the mention about combat skill influence)

We have yet to see this change on a mass level (no pun intended...) since it just came out, so we shall see how it goes in the days on.

(Disclaimer: I'm only referencing mage weaponry in this post and not armor)

Not to beat a proverbial "dead horse," but doesn't the magic damage cap seem completely unnecessary? Our only level 90 magic weapon is too expensive for the average player to afford, and even some of the level 80 equipment, (namely the virtus wand, but less so chaotic staff) is hard enough to obtain! On top of all this difficulty, you want to limit the effectiveness of our means of obtaining the powerful weapons?

I respect trying to bring new life to an old game, but you are still going about it in a terrible way. It was said before, and im going to say it again. Let go of your dead weight around the office. This company is spending too much time and resources "updating" and "fixing" all the wrong content. Listen to your players, and not just the ones that are paying your bills. We are a community that has supported you from the beginning, and we are not afraid to leave you high and dry.

Thank you.

But, if you haven't noticed, high-level magic is kinda overpowered right now. It's possible to beat Nex, the "most magically-resistant boss" in the game, with magic. (According to a friend with 90 magic)

Where is magic overpowered? Of the current high level bosses, a very select few can be fought with magic.
KK - in rare occasions
*ex - not unless using seismic
Corp - nope
Legiones - not possible

This leaves Vorago, and even then magic is useless next to the overdominant melee presence that this game has come to rely upon.

So i ask again, where is magic overpowered?

I'm sorry Jagex, but with this update so much more glitches came rushing in... The new font is hard to work with, and it causes so many more glitches in PM'ing someone in lobby, in trade screen etc. The split PM has introduced a problem with PM'ing as well. Pressing tab to reply or even clicking someones name in the friends list, I have no idea who I'm sending it to. Also, with the click through chat box, when I try to scroll up or down the screen zooms in and out? I'm sorry but it's just really hard to work with. Please fix.

So many changes that were uncalled for, yes I can fiddle around and eventually get the screen looking reasonable but why not give us a default to the old settings?

As for the magic changes, makes being Lvl 99 Mage irrelevant, all that matters is the size of your wand. ...Groans

I suppose eventually they will bring out expensive wands as special treats on Squeal of Failure but until then it makes all the higher level spells pointless unless you have a few hundred Million in the bank.

Guess you can buy spins for that too!! Seems like what ever the question is...the answer is buy spins.....its like watching a car crash in slow motion. As player numbers continue to plummet Jagex seem to have lost the plot.

Jagex I love the fact that you have tried to fix the interfaces,

BUT

1. When you have click through interfaces checked there is
a problem with the chat box
. When you try and click on the top line of the chat interface ( All Chat, Private chat, Friend chat, clan, emote) you are clicking through, running to that point on the screen instead of selecting that option!

2. No mater what I do to the mini map interface, when I lock it,
the excite X disappears
!

I am sending bug reports

Don't want to be critical here, and it is likely water under the bridge at this point, but...

Many of the changes made today to the interfaces could have/should have been foreseen prior to initial launch. I think the whole community and the teams devoted to this kind of development would benefit from a more robust system of testing, trials, and vetting problems up front.

It seems there is a big hole in the course of releasing updates that necessitates backing up the cart, and getting the horse in front of it. As a player I detest this sort of thing, and I suspect most players do. It does not cast a favorable light on your efforts and degrades confidence in your game and enthusiasm in playing it.

Putting out a stellar product on first release and minimizing changes afterward would, imo, be a huge win-win for everyone.

Cheers.

HERE HERE! But good luck on any change, it's the way Jagex has all ways worked plus after they fixed things they will do back and mess with it again and again and again ect ect.

TBH I popped on the forums to big up the team on the NIS and RS3 because I'v been enjoying the game quite a bit over the last few days and everything looks ace plus there's no lag, if i look back six moths ago when i stopped playing (because i was sick of Jagex) to now then there's huge improvements.

I wish i was still paying £3.20!
