Outside MCM
Vodka B : Welcome to RuneCast. Today we’re at MCM Expo in London. We’re going to be checking out the event, talking to J-Mods Mark and Chihiro who’ll be answering your burning questions and we’ll be seeing what you guys in the community have been up to in the last couple of weeks.

Vodka B : The MCM expo is a London's version of Comic Con, featuring a dazzling showcase of Sci Fi, Comic Books, Anime, Manga and Video Games.
RuneScape Stand
Vodka B : I’ve made it to the RuneScape booth. Before we check it out here’s Ability44 with his take on the latest RuneScape news.

Ability44 : Hi guys this is Ability44 from the What’sWithRS YouTube channel. Now to start things off “S U O M I” hits the maximum amount of experience displayable on the high scores. Now of course he still has gained the most experience in-game but his high score has just kind of like rolled over and as you can see from this video linked in the description he’s enjoying flying under the radar for a short while. Since “S U O M I”’s scores have been rolled over that means that the rank point spot is now held by “Jake”. Moving on though Monday 29th Midnight GMT time marks the end of Wild Weekends but don’t worry because Mad May is still going on until 1st June and of course when mad May ends the beta testing signups for combat evolution begins. That’s all from me I’ll catch you all in the next RuneCast episode and let’s get on back to the people at the expo.
RuneScape Stand
Vodka B : Well I’m here with Mod Paul M. Paul, how you doing?
Mod Paul M : I’m good thanks how are you?
Vodka B : I’m good thanks, So what’s been going on?
Mod Paul M : So we’re here at MCM it’s packed it’s really hot. We’ve got the RuneScape stand here. Half the community seem to have turned out to come and join us. They’re playing RuneScape on the laptops. We’ve got Mod GG the concept artist who’s working his magic. We’ve got the Runezone guys here, they’re demoing the game, we’re throwing out t-shirts to people. We’re selling some amazing game packs with cosmetic items and so on and we’re just basically signing stuff and just meeting people and just checking the place out. It's just really great seeing the reaction of people. People have come here from Belgium, from Canada, from the States just to check out the RuneScape stand and that’s pretty special and it means a lot.

Vodka B : As ever, the incredibly creative RuneScape Community has busy making video masterpieces. Here's what we've been watching:
Ever thought about who's better: Wise Old Man or Party Pete? Regicidal1 decided to answer that question once and for all - through the medium of a rap battle...
Two-time Golden Gnome Award Winner and 3D Animation master Jeffrey_Son has been keeping himself rather busy since Runefest. Check out this awesome bit of motion capture.
How does he get such great motion capture footage? Well it looks like his backflip at RuneFest wasn’t a one-off. Check this out. He’s like a ninja!

RuneScape Stand - With Mark & Chihiro
Vodka B : Last time on RuneCast we asked for your questions and you’ve sent them in in droves. We’ve got Mod Mark and Mod Chihiro to answer them today. How you doing guys?
Mod Chihiro : Yeah great!
Mod Mark : Yeah great yeah I love a good fest.
Vodka B : Brilliant. Well our first question is from ROBINH00D. Will the combat 99s go to 120?
Mod Mark : We’ve got no plans to raise any of the skills beyond 99 at the moment. Dungeoneering is the right skill to have up to 120 but we’ve to no other plans to do it with any of the other skills. Not combat, not anything.
Vodka B : Will you bring the bow system back for rangers?
Mod Mark : If you mean are Rangers going to be able to use bows again rather than being forced to use crossbows? Definitely. 100%!
Vodka B : Will this new system [evolution of combat] give maxed players a lot more individuality?
Mod Mark : Yeah a lot more. One of the problems that we see with RuneScape is at the top end of the game there’s a very limited amount of choice in terms of combat equipment but sometimes it’s not always about the equipment it’s what you do with the equipment and it’s really important to be able to give the players choice so they have genuine variety in their gameplay. I’d really like to introduce a new level of skill with combat.
Vodka B : And will the community get a chance to use their voices in-game again?
Mod Mark : Whilst we like using professional voice actors, we like doing a little bit of stuff in house and we love to use our community. At the end of the day we’re all about the community and the more stuff we can do with them the better.
Mod Chihiro : The help of the community makes the game so the more they can get involved, even just the smallest little things then the better.
Vodka B : iMouse has asked if you have any hints to future penguin quests at all.
Mod Mark : Oh it’s far too secret we’re far too secretive. I don’t think we can tell you anything about penguins no.
Vodka B : Go on there must be something you can tell us perhaps a release date or requirements?
Mod Mark : Well go on I suppose so since it’s you. We’ve got a very strong storyline. We know where we want to go with the direction of the quest. As with the last quest where we had a real sort of link to the old Hunt for Red October film we’ve got another real link to another classic film.
Mod Chihiro : Seriously though I did see one of the NPCs from that quest when I walked past [Mod] Nancy’s desk the other day. I was in fits of laughter. I just LOL’d and LOL’d. There’s some very funny stuff in there.
Vodka B : Anna’s sent in a question asking if there’s going to be any more hairstyles or hair colours added to the game.
Mod Mark : Actually very recently we’ve been gathering a lot of feedback from the forums and we’ve given those suggestions to the graphics dept. and we are expecting to have a pretty cool haircut update within this year.
Vodka B : Finally as part of the community myself I’m a member of Clan Quest. I was wondering if there’s going to be any future work planned for clans this year?
Mod Chihiro : Yeah absolutely I mean obviously last year was the year of the clans so we’re not going to have as much time to do as much work as we had last year but there is a project that’s in development. It’s called the Clan Avatar Project and I think there’s some very cool things about it. It involves essentially a clan mascot you can take out on the surface world, it’s customisable up to a point. You’ll be able to show your clan colours and clan logo on it and it will also have some pretty handy little gameplay help as well. It won’t just be there to look pretty it will be there to help you out.
