this is stupid as heck, you "gave the lower level player alot of stuff" lol no you just updated the game to 2012 and that stuff came with it. why would you waste a such a big thing on only people with lvl 90+ in a bunch of skills. i along with alot of people play runescape for the fun and decide to not waste their lifes grinding for exp all day long. this should be a lvl 50-60 thing. and then add a ridiculous amount of content for lvls 10-90, use someting like thhis to make up for the evolution of combat and give the players another world to sail to, open up runescape into something huge!.. if jagex was smart with runescape it would kick WoW off the board and you would hear about it in stuff like E3 and the VGAs**** might already be there but they arent a powerhouse like wow and call of duty. step up your work and make rs what it truly could be, or wait till another company makes a browser based mmorpg and ruins jagex forever.

I'm actually really excited for this, despite my status as possibly the nubbiest player ever to grace the face of Gielinor - maybe it will finally give me the incentive to actually try and train my skills to a high level, after much 'beating around the bush'.

See. Low leveled nubs can be excited for high level updates too.

Also. Katanas. They had better be trade-able. I want one. And a wakizashi. And the potential wide expansion to the ranged skill, with weapons like shiruken and **nai being a possibility.

Katana pls.

Kthxbai.

I agree 100%, Runescape is a great game and all, but the fact is, i don’t see me forking out millions of my cash that i don’t have in training skills, or spend 30+ hours in runespan and pyramid plunder, there is always content coming out for the under level 40's and from lv 80-99 there is so much maxed items that keep coming out, there hasn’t been a single mid level boss in the game really, its all stupid high levels only the people who play the game all the time can achieve, QBD, God wars, KBD, allot of people who bother reading this will think, "What a noob, Learn to play" but the fact is ive seen this game change over the last 5 years and it has always been the same, I don’t like grinding one skill, and because i have no high levels, but also no low. I am stuck in a midpoint where nothing interesting happens, everything becomes a grind, i have been waiting so long for a thing like Player-Owned-Ports to come out, and it annoys me to see it at such a high level that i probably never achieve. I mean how would it make you feel to have something you were waiting for to come out, you go over to it, you can get there but cant do anything?

Well that’s my rant done, its just annoying, un-thoughtful and poor planning in most cases, I do have to admit, the EOC was fantastic, but that is more combat side of things, i just plead you Jagex to think about some things a bit more, im sure you put hard work into these things but it is only good for the minority. Thank you anyone who has bothered reading this, ive just realised how much ive put.

Edit- Reply to smoked cow's post

Not to sound ungrateful but why those skills, Slayer is slow since you only get xp when you kill an enemy your assigned. Herb & prayer are expensive in the 70-90 range for those that don't have a MASSIVE amount of coin, & both Fishing & Runecrafting are slow, with fishing 50kxp/hr just doesn't cut it, & with runecrafting, even with the runespan, is slow, cause even at lv 80 runecrafting, you can still fail to siphon air runes for the movement pads. & don't even get me started on thieving.

"i don’t see me forking out millions of my cash that i don’t have in training skills, or spend 30+ hours in runespan and pyramid plunder,"

Yes, runespan can take a bit of time to level runecrafting however pyramid plunder isn't as long as you think. If you only loot the last 2 rooms, the xp/hr is quite nice and fast. Every 10lvls you progress the xp rates get higher too. Theft is likely one of the easiest skills (on that list) to get 99 in. If you started to train now, you could get it by the end of the month (latest) [depending on how much time you play perday]

"there is always content coming out for the under level 40's and from lv 80-99 there is so much maxed items that keep coming out, there hasn’t been a single mid level boss in the game really"

I don't know if I would agree with this completely, Idk the feasibility of groups of ~142 - 152cb (balanced) taking on the GWD boss, but the rewards from this content is really aimed at these mid range players. Even Barrows are aimed at the level 70 - 79 area. Heck at 90+ combat skill i still use barrows.

That said, understand the game is really lacking high level content, for skillers overall. I have several 99s in my skills and a number of 90+ skills. Outside of combat skills, they only point i have for most is to max them for cape. My 99 smith is rather useless, hopefully this update does a bit to fix that.

I have 3/6 skills required (outside of smith, don't have the crafting) but I plan to train those skills. In fact at my current rate of slayer, I won't hit 90 for like a month (and im 82) but that won't stop me. I am training range and attack along the way. Just recently got 99 def (98->99) off slayer.

I do see your point and get what you going, but my closest out of these levels is 68-69 thieving (not sure which) but im just one of them people who cant sit and train one skill, i will get bored quickly at them, 30 mins of PP annoy me so much i just log, I just have other things I want to do and im just slowly playing this game less and less now, its a game i would like to play but ive lost enthusiasm for. This is gone off topic though. Just 21 levels seems like a tall order
