Pretty much agree with what Smith and Maritah said. I tend to be the person in my clan that, when someone starts going off on Jagex or complaining about an update, just asks "Why? What do you not like about the update?" A lot of the time, it just makes the person stop, maybe replying with a "well, it's just not the same." Sometimes I get a real answer, which is often something that I can see as being a real issue, though maybe not deserving of the harsh words it incites.
I'm not an EoC lover, or a hater. There are good things and bad. I don't love every update, but a lot of them are ones that I know, or at least hope, someone will appreciate even though I don't. I love new quests (and believe me, I generally feel like the minority in that regard) and many would probably classify me as a quester (though I think an 'all-arounder' is closer for me). I put out my suggestions on what could be improved, and try to mention when I really enjoy something.
The *act that the 2007 servers were going to be a thing was already, at the least, surprising to me. Only a handful of times has Jagex done something like that, the biggest one being the reinstatement of Free Trade and the Wilderness, and that was after years and years of people asking for it, and several months of prep after mentioning it. But now we're getting the 2007 severs rushed out at the expense of not only an update, but something that has been touted as THE most important quest ever, all because some people are getting what they want after pretty much saying that this company and this game are worthless.
Guess what? I'm not happy. Do I need to start bad-mouthing Jagex until they do something about it, too? This year is supposed to be about the players, so how about remembering to keep the players that actually like the game happy, too.
