I thought Jagex was actually happy about having 200,000,000 players...
I now see that, the hype and excitement of it was just so later on you could pretend to be doing us a favor or reward by having 200m prize in the SoF.
I was hoping you guys at Jagex where proud to have that many people play your game and maybe have some type of in-game celebration, instead you found yet another way to cash in on the SoF.

I know that the loudest minority can appear to be the majority, especially when they are the unhappy party, but it truly appears that a great deal of players are opposed to this. I myself have been trying not to think about the fact that people can buy 500 spins or whatever, which is essentially a combination of gambling and Real World Trading. I am actually not opposed to the squeal of fortune. When you can get things like little experience lamps, modest sums of gold, and bits and bobbles, it's kinda cool to have as an option each day. It is never enough to unbalance the game. But I would always cross my fingers that I DON'T win the 10million or whatever, because it would be cheap as hell. And putting 200million as a spin reward? PERMANENTLY??! That just blows my mind. That's like putting in a cheat code to a game that gives you max gold. You get to do whatever you want, and money is of no consequence. It's fun for a bit, until you realize it's boring when you can get everything from the start. Games are fun when you earn things. That's why games that have unlocks for characters and items are so popular. The simple fact that if I have enough money to burn, I could potentially spin continually until I am filthy rich, is a little infuriating. And insulting. Someone once said that the SOF was gambling, and I agreed with those saying it's not, since you don't risk anything. But then they released spin buying, and well, now it really IS gambling. It's just kind of sad. Things like buying spins, or similar gimmicks are symptoms of a company shifting from a passionate group of employees, to a soulless business complex. It makes me sad really. :(

Going against your own rules is not a legitimate excuse to make money regardless of the means. If your gonna make money do it the legit way; don't turn tail on the players who have been supporters of this game for so long only to have them hate you for it because you choose to bypass one of your own rules and make it seem like it's something other than what it actually is. :@ :(

"Celebrate 200 million accounts by launching Optimus instead."
O wait it already was launched?
Get your head out of your ass Jagex. Do you really think this is making the community/new accounts like you? Set a good example for Christ's sake. Your ruining your own game. I understand your corporate, yet you have to even out the bad and good updates. If you just keep on firing out the disgusting and game-changing updates, your only hurting yourself. #StopJagex2012

Hey Green God, I wouldn't be so sure about World of Warcraft. You can pay them $25 for a pet now. Like, really? At least it isn't buying gold (*cough* Diablo 3 *cough*), but I wouldn't be surprised, the way they are turning.

It's not the developers doing this....it's the bean counters......when they nuked the bots they lost accts..so they came up with s.o.f. To make up for the loss of $$$...in the prosess they found out they could make bank. I don't have a big problem with jagex making money...that's what companies do...as long as they pour that s.o.f. Into development....I don't see people complaining about bonus xp weekends wich can save players a lot of gp.....I say get rid of the xp lamps in s.o.f....don't sell xp
