The reason they have chosen to do this is because there is solid proof that players are still buying spins. So, look to your fellow players that have bought spins and rant to them.
Flower games is proof that players do like to gamble regardless of winning something every time or losing any certain amount of GP. Have to give thanks to those whom host them too, for showing Jagex this true player info.
I have seen several post on players spending Irl $$ just to gain items on the wheel.
Now, by demand of the players buying gold from the gold farm sites > or else they would not exist > Jagex might as well have a chance at it for a short while too.
If players do decide to buy spins just for this chance to gain 200mil GP, then the players then make the decision for Jagex to go ahead and sell GP.
Where there is demand - there is someone willing to supply it.
So, thank you fellow players for allowing such things to exist.

What the **** are you doing Jagex. To celebrate a landmark in Runescape's history, you're ruining the game? All for a quick buck in the end, eh? Oh, and real world training is just that; real world training. Stop trying to justify this with that. We all know you just want the money. This game can be equated to real life, and do you want the little kids who play this to think that there's an easy way to life? Jagex, you're a bunch of scum bags.
