cash_flos-i agree that if people want to quit, they should just stop posting to show some boycotting, but i don't want to quit, i loved this game for a long time, ive played it for over 6 years now, thats why i don't want the game to be ruined, i want to give a chance for others to enjoy it. That's why i'm telling jagex to listen to the players, if they have money problems, they need to talk to the player, for example posting on the front page that membership will be cost $9 for one month, and $25 for 3 months since jagex needs more cash since they can't afford something, this will cause players to agree and end up supporting jagex. Jagex needs to explain why they are doing this, but we obviously know that jagex isn't in a money problem, since before they never had this problem. Yes, its because of the bots, but jagex got rid of the bots to us happy, how is adding the sof making us happier when they can see the amount of negative feedback they are getting .Jagex needs to talk to us, not make updates without our consent. For a government to succeed, they must have the consent of the governed.

Okay, is anyone able to reply more then a "Please no..." or is that too much to ask?
Personally RWT I feel is illegal if a third party wants to make profit off of something that should justifiably go to the game designers. JaGex invented the in game currency we use, they should be allowed to sell it. And technically they aren't outright selling it. You have to buy spins. And some people say "This is gambling!". Yes, but there's a slight difference. But there's no point in convincing you trolls other then JaGex is a business. They will run the game as business. Gamers support their business and as the gaming community changes in it's damand so will JaGex. So suck it up, if there's going to be "RWT" or "Gambling" I'd prefer someone who did it that I trust, that being JaGex. JaGex put those original rules up because you can not trust third party gambling or RWT, you get scammed. But people still want it, so JaGex is providing it. I trust them. I played games that sell their own money and it's very fun.
I support JaGex's choice in this, it's called business, you can't survive in this world anymore, and if you all want to play your precious game then suck it up and move on. Without funding, Runescape dies. End of story.
I'm on YouTube - Search me at Littlejayberry . Or don't. Up to you.

Sure they aren't making us buy spins, but they sure are pestering us about it frequently with these weekly SoF updates. All of this marketing is just plain manipulation.
What's more is that the SoF is gradually becoming a large part of the game, and in time, players who keep away from the SoF will likely be noticeably disadvantaged or behind. Also, since the SoF is getting SO much attention, it's likely that it'll influence the game's future and RS will become a game where money takes precedence over work.
I HATE the concept of buying success like this; imagine if in real life, you could just pay money for something that isn't normally obtainable with money, like a job.
@ConduitSamus
I still find it unbelievable that JAGEX would change their policies that they've stood by for years. I don't think a time at which they need more revenue makes it acceptable for them to just change their rules like that. Being a business doesn't excuse them from ethics. And no I don't think it's okay for JAGEX to do this instead of third parties. It's still wrong, just less wrong than with third parties.

THIS is how we celebrate a milestone. A stupid wild weekend!!!!! I thought there would be an actual celebration. Please, jagex, please tell me this is NOT the way you expect us to celenrate trhis thing!!!!!

The squeel of fortune is a scandal, a hooblah invented to make money by selling virtual items to kids in a lottery. Great, a big celebration in RS containing the thing about jagex I hate most.

It would be nice for a wild weekend, though.

The ones who stand for SoF seem to say that it is what Jagex MUST do, because it's what the customers and the corporate world of today demand. That it is something Jagex does because otherwise they'll lose cash and customers.
That denotes that people (customers, which is us) want SoF. So, where the heck is this massive population of us that wants SoF, or we won't support Jagex anymore?
Going with the times is only a valid argument, if they are doing something the customer base wants. Doing something the customers hate, and then insisting that they must, to keep customers happy... That's either completely stupid if they actually believe it, or the worst attempt on a lie imaginable.
