I'd like to point out that many of us have been paying Jagex for years upon years without lapse and we get nothing for that other than access to the game itself. We haven't received any special 'perks' for having given them the money to keep this going without fail. Heck, I'd even have loved if Jagex backdated all our loyalty points to when we started paying consecutively - that would be awesome.
My membership hasn't lapsed since I joined RS in 2006. I still pay $5 and it's never expired. What do I get for that? Absolutely nothing special. So yes, if you want to complain that you gave them a whole year of money up front and got special stuff for that, let's complain about those of us who have paid faithfully and received jack.
You're at least lucky you received special stuff for it. Where did Jagex say they'd give every exclusive item (buy x months membership get this item!) released in the year you paid for to you for free? Now you're going to complain you aren't getting it? I don't recall Jagex promising anything of the sort. They specifically laid out what you would receive when buying Gold membership.
