Um where to start, interface windows take up too much screen space ; even when headers are off, slimmed down and squished.

When interface windows have headers off , are slimmed down and squished , icons are too small too see.

Too many interface windows, simpler usually is better

Transparency pretty useless, can see through, but can't click in areas behind transparent window to move to.

Just really a busy mess IMO, yes i know you can customize, but it really is just a tad much.

A Chevrolet is not a Cadillac even if you add all the bells and whistles; it's just not.

I like the concept of being able to have what I want showing when I want it, but like others I want to be able to get rid of the combat bar when I'm skilling and I rarely use chat so have that minimised. It should be closeable.
I like others ideas of having little boxes on screen all the time that popup to where I last placed them when I want them. To work a bit like docs in word. And lose the headers they are not required.

The little compartments in the inventory are useless and the camera needs tweeking. Otherwise this is looking to be a promising update. I would like to make all but inventory see through and click through and as I have not been able to test the world map I have no idea if this works. Why not just open the beta testing up to a few more of us.

I love the idea for this and finally had a chance to play with it. Here's what I've noticed so far.

A bunch of stuff seems to be missing. Where's the Exp tracker, the SoF and Store buttons, the logout button, the target creature button for EoC, the button at the bank so I could equip gear without closing my bank, and the option to set up how combat exp is gained (strength, def, etc.)

There's also a lot of stuff that needs tweaking or may just not be implemented yet. A lot of tooltips are missing (including for your buffs). Transparency doesn't affect the combat bar, part of the chat bar, or the bar with report bug on it. Quick prayer/summon are way too tiny and out of the way. The huge space between slots in the inventory is horrible (I like seeing the slots, but instead of that wasted space just put a 1 pixel grid of a contrasting color between them). No way to click through or minimize the various windows (esp chat and combat bar since they cover so much of the screen). The chat tabs and filter buttons take up two rows of space that's mostly wasted, put them on the same line and make that line hideable. The wallet (and skill total), it's so small but wastes so much space, needs a better spot.

A few things I'd like to see added or changed. The ability to change font sizes (mainly for chat, but would be nice for everything, my eyes are very bad and I have trouble reading them), also being able to change the font colors would be very nice (for instance I absolutly cannot read that dark red you use for some of the announcements). More action bars visible at once. Bigger HP, Prayer, etc bars and the ability to individually position each bar on the screen instead of them being attached to the combat bar. Boost the size of the skills on the skill tab (they're so tiny). Ability to reposition and resize the bank (also what's up with that weird inventory window that opens when you use the bank, I'd rather just use my inventory like always).

Continued in my next post.

I'd like to see a big overhaul on the way you customize the windows. Right now the various tabs you can drag out are scattered and often hard to find and there's no way to remove several of them (or if there is I couldn't find them). So here's my idea.

First of all get rid of the header bars completely and just make the windows dragable. Then change the Edit Mode menu. Right now when you go into it it has options to place/resize things that aren't always visible (like exp gain, your gravestone timmer, your buffs, etc). Instead of just that handful of options, add another catagory (catagories?) containing all the other windows you can open so everything is together in one place instead of scattered. Also while in this mode you can chose if each window you've placed is locked or not. If it is you can't move it without being in edit mode and if it's not you can drag it around freely during the game by just clicking in the window and dragging. You can also get rid of a window by dragging it back into the list. So you could get rid of your combat bar while your skilling or your chat window while in the GE.

The last part of my suggestion is adding a minimize "button" for many of the windows. In the base game I usually play with inventory minimized, combat bar minimized, and probably chat minimized as well so I can see as much as possible. The way NIS works I can't do that and I lose vast tracks of screen to windows I don't care about at the moment. So next to every window available in Edit Mode is a Minimize icon you can drag and place. When clicked it would make the appropriate window disappear or appear (at the spot we've placed it using Edit Mode), pretty much like the minimize icons do now. For example I'd place chat, combat, inventory, skill, and equipment buttons in the lower part of my screen that when clicked would open (or close) whichever window matched the icon I'd clicked.

I hope that was clear. It's a simple idea but a bit wordy to try to explain.

First view - I love the zoom.

I want to get back in and spend some more time with it to give a better analysis. But like any new piece of software, it will take a bit of time to become familiar with all of the new panes and pop-ups. And of course I need to determine the my ideal placement of everything.

Sometimes simple things like the "slots" in the backpack are brilliant because, at a glance one can determine available space.

Nice work.
