Howdie Jagex,

Ok, as you so duly noted loading/FRS are slow and I understand this. I do use google earth a lot in my work and it also is (slow) as is all things google. Google uses a lot of bandwidth and resources. This is tiresome for us with (older) computers but having said that, I do plan on reducing some (slowness) by increasing my internet speed soon.

Now, as for what I encountered briefly.
I was able to enter thru chrome with little or no difficulty even on this older computer (just lucky I guess :) )
I now see how HTML5 does allow you more (immersion) in this format. The depth of graphics as well as sound quality is quite nice. I first appeared at the portal in Brimhaven and went to the docks. There I could see buildings and such across the water and had no idea where (there) was lol
The (water) was absent when I logged in though and all I saw were the ships hanging in mid air.
Ok, enough for now as I see your doing updates. When I get more time later I'll give it another go.

Hello Jagex, i have recieved a Beta invite via the runescape mail system but when i try to logg into the game using google chrome it works like usual, and when i go into the world of runescape, im still in runescape 2....... i would like to know exactly how i can use the html5 runescape 3... the message did entail that my JAG account guardian can block runescape 3 and so i will need to switch to the runescape 3 device in the JAG account settings... i went to those settings and cannot find any device or button which has the Runescape ******, it only has the same devices in which i made before on runescape 2.... please help!

personaly found the largest obstacle being the lagg, understandably this has been explained in the post however I myself with full hd intel graphics card + i3 processor with all updated graphics drivers and Chrome installed could not run the alpha enough to enjoy or appreciate the graphics. The graphics loaded far to slow to enjoy the difference to the full extent.

what I could get to load was too bright and I could not enjoy the sky from any view angle.

I tried locations like white wolf mountain peak and could just about manage to view farming patch in catherby, it wasn't great though.

what would make a difference to me when lagg disappears would be to see the integration of players in the distance, this would make the world seem less baron, and more populated and alive, this would benefit people in the wilderness when searching for 'prey'.
To expand on that the integration of npc's in the distance would be fantastic too, and would help players search out npc's to train on from distances or implings and even populated areas.

Also I would greatly appreciate the ability to use Rs3 on windows internet explorer or preferably a Rs3 Client to download, im used to it, I have my rs toolbar on it and its perfect for me on i.e , I've read some people say html5 isn't compatible with the browser, im not sure, all im saying is if there's either a downloadable client version since I use that 95% of the time Or i.e version that would be perfect.

I would hope there will be an update very soon to improve the lagg so it is possible to enjoy the full extent of runescape in combat and godwars and other features to enjoy the graphics in a safe environment and a playable, enjoyable way. At that point I will be able to feedback my experience further.

I would love to be able to give feedback, but I still can't get past the initial loading screen. I have tried several times since beta went live but it just goes round and round. I thought perhaps I wasn't giving it enough time, but it is still going round and round after a couple of hours now!

I know Chrome is up to date and when I check it says my graphics card is on the latest update. Are there graphics cards it is not compatible with? Any advice or pointers to a suitable info thread would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am sorry so many people are upset that they did not get to try beta. I think they are still inviting people, so nasty messages may not help your cause. With that said, here are my notes from Beta play on 4/18/13:
1. After installing Google Chrome, and getting the latest drivers for my graphics card, I had to go through and tweak all my graphic settings. I have a 64 bit pc, and have been using Explorer because it was the only browser with 64 bit support. With everything reset to optimization, the Beta world is vividly detailed, vibrant colors, the water is amazing, and the new draw distance lets you have an amazing view.
2. Bloom made all the lighter spectrum colors blur out to indistinguishable.
3. I was delighted to find that I could play with my friends still while in Beta.
4. Ivy hot spot on Varrock SE wall-click way in front on ground.
5. The numbers on my keyboard at the right do not work either to log in or to play, only on the Beta.
6. When switching to another tab, (to view guide), it logs me out of Beta.

I have already reported the only real glitch properly. If anyone is interested, I will post more notes as I go. Have fun, and remember... .it is just a game! MaireMcEnis

You guys should also let the beta run on Maxthon browser, it will run HTML5 just as good, but most likely even better. If you do descide to add a 2nd browser to run it,

would be the best and allow it to run smother. Just think about it Jagex. :) Right now I'm getting a lot of lag and slow rotation when turning my view. Slow loading of the graphics, about the same as most people reporting performance on here. I was getting 15 to 21 FRPS in Runespan, but as low as 5 FPS in places like play owned ports. I only have a mid to low spec PC. There has been a 95% improvement from opening day till I tried it yesterday evening. You guys are doing a great job making corrections and progressing to perfection. The 1st day it opened I had 2 Opps Error screens after crash, none the 2nd day. The bloom and Anti-Aliasing still need a lot of work. There were holes or trenches in the ground in player owed port. I fell in one and almost broke my leg. lol One more comment before I go, the longest draw distance in Runespan was awesome, when this is perfected, finding the orb will be a whole lot easier when attempting to solo find.

Running Windows 7, 64 bit
Intel Core2 Quad 2.66 Ghz Q6700 (4 cores)
4 GB (2x 2GB DDRII 800 MHz Ram mod)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti
Windows Experience Index # of:
7.2 for CPU performance & Memory.
7.0 Graphics & Game Graphics.
And the weak # for HD because its a SATA 7200 RPM instead of solid state, 5.4 rating on it.

Forgot to add, If anyone is having problems with mouse not working to select once you get to the lobby screen or even the user name and ******** screens, please uninstall the Runescape toolbar and it will work, or it did for me. I guess it causes some kinda conflict with the login. Name for my Shadow drake is : Diablo Snowflake

Just like EoC Beta thread, full of whining people on how their loyalty didn't get them in.

As for this beta, it's just to laggy to actually play as normal, i find right clicking stuff is inaccurate atm :o An Approved Community Project: Molior RS
