I am able to log into my account on the beta, but upon reaching the multi-tabbed login screen where I should be able to click the large golden "PLAY" button, I am unable to interact with anything on this screen. Clicking anywhere on the applet does nothing. :(

I am on latest version of Chrome with updated drivers. Windows 7 64 bit.

Woah, this thread grew up a little in the time I've last posted. Either way, I'd like to tell some of you a few things...
First of, please, don't rage over the fact that you weren't invited, even if you were a veteran of any sort*, Jagex has the right to invite whoever they want (or more likely - whoever they think will be fitting for invitations, for example no account warnings from Jagex in the past and so on).
Secondly, There was no information on more people joining the closed beta, so just wait for the actual release and play the stable Java version of the game for now. I just can't think of how many players would like to join the beta and then rant about dying on a high-tier boss due to a crash or so, they really do happen often on this alpha/beta of HTML5.

* This account has been made in early 2007 and I've got access to HTML5 myself, so they actually do care about their vet-players. RuneScape player since 2007.

how come there are no post from the runescape makings p.s. the normal runescape keeps freezeing did not have this problem till yesterday bad enough i did not get in to rs3 now i cant play the game at all cuz it keeps freezeing

For all complaining of lag and whatnot, this is a beta. That means the code is un-optimized, when the final release of RuneScape 3 comes out there should not be any lag for computers that have the hardware to run html5. This is the reason they have betas, to find out how to fix bugs and optimize the code for a better experience.
