I see that a lot of players are frustrated that they did not make the cut for the initial beta test. I ranted about the same thing a few pages back, but I would like to encourage people to stay respectful. There are a lot of things we very possibly do not understand, that could have been contributed to us not getting access. Remember that Jagex has a huge player base, a lot of those being long time loyal players. If everyone were granted access, it could easily crash the servers. They are already quite slow. I'm not sure how Jagex picked the players that are initially allowed beta access, but I know they are looking for specific feedback in order to make all of us happy in the end. For example technical specs.

First impressions......Graphics are awesome!!! :)
Load time is abominable :(

Also the brightness of the screen is painful and when I was in the G.E. all I could hear was someone fletching logs...most annoying. I may or may not be able to play and give more feedback as my computer just won't handle the screen loading. Also I am not a fan of google chrome.
But the graphics are amazing and the ability to see far is quite breath taking :)

I've been a paying member since 2004, a long time for a game. Why no invite?

I am having an issue connecting to the Runescape Update Server when trying to load the beta.

I am running a version of DNSMASQ and an ADBLOCK but these things do not effect the Java version of runescape. I disabled my ADBLOCK and it didnt change the outcome.

UPDATE - I completely uninstalled and removed every single mod (not just disabled them) and I still couldn't reach the HTML 5 update server. Is anyone else having an issue connecting to the update server (before the login screen, i get a text field)

UPDATE 2 - I disabled all my antivirus software and re-enabled my network services. still no joy.

I am using a custom built PC

AMD 8-Core CPU overclocked ( cant remember the exact model number)
Radeon HD 6xxx series gigabit graphics card overclocked(cuz im cheap :P )
8 Gigs or RAM
Windows 7 x64 bit
Latest Stable Channel Release of Google Chrome w/ experimental WebGL and OpenGL features enabled

Still 9 years of monthly payment should mean something, I've been playing rs for over 10 years...

Edit: and if the date showed when they renewed their membership it should be 4/2013

I'm having a problem with slow FPS while playing in the server, it's unusual for me to have this low FPS. I think there's something wrong, you need to check it out.

Very Nice, explored much of the wildy, and man was the view distance very impressive. The game felt much alive being able to see over such a distance and actually see buildings,trees, and creatures swarming me. The graphics are very beautiful with coloring and the textures were highly detailed on my screen. No problems logging in, just had to wait some seconds for the textures and meshes to load but worth the wait. The more I explored the lessy laggy I experienced as well as a increase in fps. I honestly can say I'm more than excited to see the final release, as we know more patches will be inbound after that to make it more enjoyable. Great work indeed.

Just checked out the beta a short while ago and i love the graphics. Ignoring the slow loading and off beat sounds since they were specifically mentioned, the things that annoyed me the most was actually the camera movement. It is slow to the point where i have to stop at time and wait till it turns enough to see what's in front of me after i take a turn. Only other major issue was when i went jumped to another tab to check something, i got disconnected every time, though thankfully is reconnected immediately. Overall looking forward to the finished product greatly.
