Still astonished at people asking for an 08/09/10 server when Jagex have already said the latest version they can retrieve was from August 2007. If they brought back any recent servers, they wouldn't be too different from the current runescape minus a few graphical reworks and EoC and wouldn't be commercially viable for Jagex.

Making the 2007 as a separate part of the game, keep both the veteran community and younger community separate is a great idea. Having said that the voting system and the fact you have to start off fresh without any xp bonus is a ridiculous idea.

Make it so anyone who has subscribed to runescape for more than 3 months at any one time, able to vote (even if they are f2p now) and let people transfer their stats & gear over (getting rid of anything that isn't 2007).

This would be 100x better if we had the same combat on the old 2007 Runescape as we do now. So if we are maxed on current RS, we are also maxed on old 2007 Runescape.

It would result in a lot more maxed accounts in the game but do you really think the players voting have the time to train their accounts all the way back up from Level 3? It doesn't make sense.

Why is everybody complaining about voting? Did they not see the whole "need to be commercially viable" thing that jagex said multiple times? Also if this comes out.. Youre going to need to be member anyway!!!!! And they said if you vote you will get your first month free!! Its 100% fair, quit looking for things to complain about. In life if you want something you pay for it. People and companies arent willing to spend their time and money to provide you free entertainment. This is how the world works and complaining gets you nothing and nowhere.

People stop asking for a vote NO option, no matter what happens the EOC will stay and still be the MAIN game, the 07 servers are for those who want it, it will be a small side set of servers, and also why not vote yes, it does not effect the people who want to play EOC except they have more options.

He also stated in the OP that this WILL not effect the EOC at all, except for a bit of minor interference at the beginning but after that you can keep the EOC and I am glad as I want to play both games :D

Thanks for your input. Finally a clever opinion. I have barely PvMed, thus my thoughts are based on what my friends say, those that still do play. The Slayer part is quite interesting, I can see what you're trying to say. However, me being a PKer myself, I can't imagine getting roughly 50m combat xp again. Not to mention all the quests.

Sure, if I really wanted to, I could even pk in EoC. The thing is that I actually don't want to.

@The Bubu is it too hard to reason for yourself? in 2007, you could get like max 50k-60k/h melee xp/h whereas you could get 200k+/h later, so having 99 flats in 2012 is 3-4x easier to achieve than it was in 2007, so. having 99 flats in 2007 was an achievement, in 2013 it is a necessity to be able to play the game properly.
also, being able to produce reagents like logs and fish faster with high fishing and wc levels, farming high level herbs, making super sets, crafting black d hide sets, furies, glories, rune items, mining runite, etc. etc. were alot easier to achieve after 2007.
So it is only fair that everyone gets to start fresh *ith the same xp rates and the run for the first crafted rune items and glories will mean something.
The first person to mine and smith full rune, get abyssal whips, farm tons of ranarr thus making tons of p pots, will be rich, to be able to PK in 2007 you need to have proper stats, and your gear actually means something, as most of the players will be ragging in start as they are poor. You can outgear them if you are good, and first rune set pks will be worth something.
