"There seems to be a lot of conjecture around the actual size of the playing community with a lot of people incorrectly assuming that the ‘concurrent player count’ on the RuneScape website represents the total number of active players.
To clear up any confusion on this matter I want to confirm that our Unique Active Player stats for the proceeding 14 Days from Monday the 11th Feb was actually 8,229,459!
So as to the pockets of cynicism that this vote is somehow setup to *ail due to barely enough members to hit the first level of viability, you really could not be more wrong.
The reality is that if members really got behind this then they would easily blow through the various tiers and that’s not even counting the mass of existing free players that have clearly stated in the hundreds of ensuing pages of this forum thread that they intend to subscribe to register their support too.
The big question is will the members actually get behind this and register their support, abstain or will people simply hope that someone else will carry a positive vote for them?
I hope that voter apathy wont undermine player democracy, nevertheless the one thing we know for sure is that you will be able to participate from tomorrow onwards and everyone will see the results in real time.

Consider this, the more members that vote the cheaper it would ultimately be for everyone and hopefully reach the point where it doesn’t cost you a penny more and could simply be offered as part of your existing membership - Even if you don't intend to use it I think that's a nice thing to do for your friends.

Lastly, I want to add members that do indeed vote for the reinstatement of the service will all get their first month of 'Old School' RuneScape for free regardless of the eventual level achieved therefore those signing up just to vote you will not need to pay twice"

Uhm, two words -- Freakin' awesome.
Everyone starts from level 3. What isn't to like about that? If you don't want to start from level 3, don't play the game! If you vote, we still get to, so why wouldn't you want to be nice and allow us to?

Tutorial Island. Nuff said.

If this reaches... even 50K votes, I will definitely pay a premium to play - I will pay $15 a month if it gives me old RuneScape.

Don't complain about losing all your skills and items. I see people with party hats that want this to happen. Don't be selfish about it.

I will be becoming a member just to vote for this. If it doesn't reach 50K votes at least, I will have wasted my membership - I don't want to play EoC. I want the golden age (2004-2007) when RuneScape was AWESOME.

I have been wishing for this for YEARS. About five. Thank you sooo much, Jagex.

If we get enough votes for a development team: Will the players have polls for updates for the 2007 server?

First of all its about time!

I for one will be renewing my membership just to vote and then renewing again if 2007 scape comes back.

I think that the EoC is great and everything but i think its just not for everybody, and re adding the old elements of the game really gives alot of diversity and should bring back alot of players, not to mention a more interacting community.

Great job jagex for listening to the players!

One other thing i was wondering about, will the combat traingle be the same? or will you balance it out a little, because if i remember correctly melee was by **r the strongest back then.

If you pay for membership to vote, you get your first month of 'old school' RuneScape for free so will people stop moaning about having to pay for membership to vote. Read what Mod MMG says before posting.

Fresh accounts, whats the point on runescape 2007 then. It would be waste of time for the work we spent on our main accounts. Why not have our main accounts in server 2007? Everyone will vote, but no one will play as they have to start fresh. Yet again jagex has a way to ***** things up. :@

i will be a returning member only if this 2007 server comes to be, i will not return until this is a happening thing, not just a jagex promise..i remember longtime ago with the "promise" of a bank-pin thing which would of changed every time i logged in. a post was set up but that wasn't followed up until years/months later. i get you're a business. but the eoc wasn't for me. and being entitled to my own opinion i just hope this 2007 isn't a lie. besides if it happens, what happens to my high-scores? or will we be forgotten again :(
