I don't often post on these but I'd like to say what a reckless disregard for keeping the community together this is.

Sure, people WANT 2007; but there aren't as many that want it as there are people that know how to keep their mouths shut and enjoy the game. This will also put a strong divide in the existing community as there'll be LESS people playing the main game, therefore it'll be LESS enjoyable to play in the long run as there'll be LESS people to play with.

See where I'm headed here?

On top of this there is the POSSIBILITY of there being LESS updates for the main game if your initiative somehow crumbles. Learn to market, guys. Seriously. The more interest you have in the new servers, the more you should think about how to get just a LITTLE bit of money out of these guys.

The fact that EoC broke 90% of the game (and that the broken content is being fixed at a slower rate than grass grows) is more than enough of a reason to qualify it as a crappy update. And splitting up the community? I doubt that this could do any more damage to it than the other things that Jagex has already done over the past year.
