I haven't been a member for quite awhile now. I idea and prospect of this venture is interesting and it almost makes me tear a little thinking back to the good old days. However, I honestly can only see my self trying it out for a month or two, then putting Runescape back on the shelf again.
The old community that made the game, the old ambiance and atmosphere that made me play this game every single day when I was younger is gone. Even if some of them came back, it would be no where near enough to where it would be worth it to run this operation. All my good friends from 04-08 are long gone, and the current existing community is a shame in my eyes. Begging, poor trolling, and bad attitudes have brought this game to lower standards along with many of the updates including EoC.
Where Jagex went wrong was when they took away the wilderness the first time, effectively beginning the decline of loyal players who's sole purpose was to PK and fight with their friends, all to stop RWT. There never has been a fool proof way to rid the game of RWT, and so it was an effort in vain. The BH can't replace old runescape, EoC can't replace it, and really nothing at this point can do anything about it.
I wish you good luck in your en devours Jagex, however, I disagreed with many of the updates that were put into the game after the ability to pk was taken away initially. I did enjoy dungeoneering, the grand exchange, new slayer monsters and drops, but at a certain point, it felt like the heartfelt updates were merely being mass produced. You once were a company based on the good old tradition of a no-cheating, earn you way to the top kind of business for the game. Now it has become a wasteland where you can pay real money for experience practically, and the game now revolves around milking it for what it's worth. The old Jagex is gone, and along with the old community, they have been lost in this crazy world as well.
It was fun while it lasted. Slave to pie, 2004-2012
