I think all of the people who are saying it's "whiny 10 year olds who can't move on" that want the old servers back are wrong. I think the 10 year olds are actually the people who don't want the old servers back.
Remember, the veterans are the players who most support old servers. Veterans, by definition, are people WHO HAVE BEEN PLAYING THE LONGEST. Does it make any sense to say the VETERANS - the people who have been playing the longest - are the youngest (10 year olds)? I think not.
Think about it this way: if you're a 10 year old kid now and you're also a 2007 Vet, that means you were 4-5 when you started playing. Yeah...no.
Jagex, don't listen to the people who don't support this. This community is so large that no matter what you do, there will always be people who disagree.
I quit when the EoC was launched, and I think this might actually entice me to come back again! One of the more surprising (but certainly more welcome) decisions Jagex has made. Congratz for proving us wrong and showing the community you know how to listen. Truly, I respect that.
I honestly don't know why anyone wouldn't support this. If you don't want to play RS07, then just don't play it. There's nothing forcing you to; the main game will still be there, and Jagex has already confirmed that you'll only have to pay the extra RS07 fee if you actually play RS07. For all of the people who won't, this won't affect you in any way. You won't have to pay any extra money, and Jagex has told us that main game updates will not be compromised in any way. Oh, and finally, I don't think this will split the community either. The community is ALREADY split. There are the people who don't play anymore and who have unsubbed because of this issue, and then there are also the people who like EoC and still play. 07 servers will only make the community stronger. Vets will come back (like myself; I'm an 04 Vet), and people arguing back and forth about this will finally stop.
