I doubt that anyone will read this message, so I guess I'm writing it for myself.

Starting off fresh would be great fun when everyone else is, too. I expect I'll buy membership and play this for a couple months.

There will be a problem with botters. You can be sure that the bot companies are already planning on moving in. Bots will be by the players who want to get a jump on everyone else as well as for goldfarmers (both players with their own bot farms and commercial goldfarmers).

As soon as they can, the goldfarmers will create scripts to create new players. That will happen in a few days after it's open. If it's open to free players, there will be 50k new free bots per day. If there are still free 2-week memberships and they can play, then there will be 50k new member bots per day.

To protect the game from bots, it should only be available to paying members.

Heed my words. If you don't stop the bots, this will be the most heavily botted game in history. Limit it to paying members (at least at first), and prepare your antibot software to deal with the flood of botrs.

Ahh so they deciede this now? Ive played runescape a long time, i was pretty high up and had almoust all 90+ stats, EOC came out and me and all my friends quit, it was fun while it lasted.
I wouldve thought i would come back to an old runescape, but not anymore, id need to pay for membership again just to vote, not even a gurantee itll be what i remeber.

Good luck runescapians, and i do hope that the old runescape comes back, just so that people can see what it was "back in the day"

Just wondering will it be fully "2007scape" or will it also have implementations of the modern game for example will skills such as summoning and dungeoneering be in it and will bosses like the kalphite king still be in it? Would appreciate a response :)

How will there be any rares in the game if all of our accounts start fresh?

LET US PICK UP FROM WHERE WE LEFT OFF. Don't reset accounts, don't import anything from rs now. Just let us login and continue from where we were!

I've been reading a lot of these post, which isn't easy at the rate they're coming in. So many valid points.

There is no way that out of all the membership accounts rs currently has that 750k of them are legitimate players. you know this as well as we do.

How can you justify that a 2007 game having zero updates, no time allocated by jagex for updates etc cost MORE in membership than a 2007 game having dedicated teams, constant updates etc.

You know that we can only hit the 750k target if the bots start voting.

As with the eoc trial server, our stats were still valid but our banks were disconnected. Could this be implemented so that if we play 07 we can only use certain items from our banks that were available in 07 but ofc, when we use the rs3 server our banks are still there ready for us to use? and vice versa.

We would have to start from scratch on 07 items that aren't available in rs3 but that's a lot less of a sacrifice to make than losing everything, including our hard earned stats. Losers from all walks of life accepted - Vindictive Agents
