I'm not paying for membership just to vote, when the main reason i stopped paying for membership was the combat evo update.

why pay to vote if it may not even come out?

Most people probably quit due to the combat evo update now they bring this let free players vote also. who have been a player for a certain amount of time. that way people cant jus* make random accounts.

This will end up being a complete disaster. People will go on there out of curiosity, then quickly come back to RS2013 when they realize how crappy it was back then compared to now. Nostalgia has that effect of erasing the bad things and leaving only the good ones.

I feel worried about this announcement. Even though Jagex said they would eventually make it self-funding, I don't want to see even a single Cent of my membership fee go towards this nonsense. I pay to enjoy a modern game and I expect my money to fully go towards RS2013, not to fund the delusions of some people who can't let go of the past.

Edit: and of course I will vote 'no', if we can.

I understand not wanting to start over, but if we keep our items could it work with the price differences of 2007? Or would the prices be like they are now? And if they do become lower like they were in 2007, and if we could keep our money that would mean lots of money and low prices, which would overall be bad for the in-game economy, right? For example, in 2007 a party hat was like around 500 mil (I think).

@Kavorkian: Are you unable to read? The answer to why they can't 'use a newer version' is right in the bloody post.

As for resetting the stats, think about it for a minute here. What sort of insane advantage does having high slayer, high mining, high smithing, ect. PRE-Grand Exchange mean for you? Right. Crazy profit, and access to things before others, like mad. It allows players to set prices as they wish.

AKA - The reset is the smartest way to go about it.

I'd prefer if it didn't happen at all though. Sub 50k FTW!
