Though I'm just gonna be honest here. I don't see us making 750k votes. I don't see us passing 500k. F2P players with massive high scores or a high total level should be able to vote in this, as a majority of them quit due to recent updates. I actually quit when the EOC came around as I don't find it as fun at all. Add in the fact with more and more updates I kept lagging worse and that's why you haven't seen me logged in for months.

I also hate the micro transactions. Yeah I did just spend a spare $20 on getting those rather neat looking shadow outfits, but I felt guilty right after. I miss a time when I could have gotten something that neat by grinding, not paying actual money for it.


So, I guess what I'm saying is.....Jagex quit being so dang money hungry and you'll get your massive playerbase back.

Starting from scratch in rs2007 will be one of the most invigorating things to ever happen to Runescape. It's only happened once before. And that was the beginning of Ruenscape Classic back in 2001. Even when Classic was reopened, it wasn't a true restart. There were plenty of players will old accounts that still had skills and items in Classic.

But a clean slate is going to be very appealing to a wide range of players. It's a chance to get atop the leaderboard. How daunting must it be for a new player to join the game today and see a player on the highscores with over 4b experience? What hope can they possibly have of ever achieving stardom? Some players already have a 12-year advantage on them!

With a fresh start, the competition for resources and ranks is going to be crazy, intense, and fun. There will be actual reasons for training skills again. It will be profitable. Resources and items will be scarce, and those with the ability to attain them with have true power and influence. A real economy with be born.

I truly believe that this will provide a huge jolt of life to the game. I know many people think that starting from scratch will be a big deterrent, but I think it will prove otherwise. Let's hope for the best. See you all in 07!

I agree. I've worked too hard too long to have to repeat it again (although others worked much harder than I have).

I'm disappointed that my vote does not count. I actually stopped my membership because I am bored with this game. I really do not like the direction it is going in. I believe that the SoF and SGS have really taken over the game. I understand that Jagex is a business and those provide additional income. I think that it really has taken away from the real "fundamentals" of the game. I'm happy that this game does receive more attention and updates, but at the cost of micro-payments. Recent updates (like the new combat system) do not interest me. I enjoyed the simplistic pre-Grand Exchange version of RuneScape. Many of my buddies have either "aged out" of this game or too have been unsatisfied by recent changes.

Having the ability to play 2007 version servers would be nice. I would reconsider paying for membership again. Although I don't have a vote, I figured I would get my thoughts out in the open and my voice "heard." I'm sure I have some players out there that agree (or disagree) with me. We (to an extent) have the power to ask and push for ideas and updates. Please, if you're on the fence about this consider voting for 2007 servers.

The current poll is inconclusive. Sure 120k+ people have already said that they want old rs back. But we have no idea how many of those people are actually willing to pay extra for the game. It will be a sad day when the 2007 servers are released and only a few thousand are playing because it costs more.

If anything, Jagex should offer a DISCOUNT membership that is good for only the 2007 servers and not the main game. Why should people pay more for an older, less technologically advanced game that will not receive updates? I understand that there are some initial costs to setting them up, but in the long-term the 2007 servers will be cheaper for Jagex to run.

The same thing should be done for classic. It costs Jagex next to nothing to run those servers. If they offered a cheaper membership that was only good for Classic and not the main game, I bet they would make a lot more money off of it.

I don't see an issue with buying Skins that do nothing but look kewl. I played another game that allowed Custom Coloring of armor and Skinning for Cash Shop (CS) currency. But I find it to be pure fail when you get performance enhancements from the CS....It's bologna and shouldn't be done.

I actually made my gaer there look like the old Black (g) armor we should be seeing in Retro-Scape soon. I got a lot of complements on it and it really made your gear more personal. I could stand right next to another player with the exact same gear but we looked nothing alike.

I have stopped playing Runescape for a year now. I used to play every day (atleast 4-5 hours a day). It has turned into a wanna be MMORPG like other games now out (GW,WoW). Runescape was SO popular because it wasn't like other games. That is the reason so many people loved this game. I guarentee that if we get the old RS 2007 back. It will profit Runescape so much more. I check up on Runescape every so often and I logged in to find myself totally confused because of how much it changed. I think veterans of this game should have a vote (not just members). I will not purchase another subsciption for this game until RS2007 is back.

Jagex, You really need to release some F2P worlds aswell when you bring out these servers.

because alot of F2p clans want to war in that style, was alot more wars in f2p anyway. please listen. we need the 500k part you offered, you bring back any clans.
