@Oh God Ebola

Jagex needs to know that even if people begin to play again after 07 scape that they will still have enough funds to run it from CURRENT members who are dedicated to still playing the game. Even though people in the past have contributed to the game its the present that we're in and not the past. The funds they need now are coming from those who are still playing even in EOC, so while it may give a better representation, it's not going to show who is going to be really dedicated to it.

Edit: Yeah but it still doesn't show for sure who is going to pay an extra fee if there becomes one. Especially with the 500k bracket of no extra Fee.

@Teked and as can be seen by the interest from former members and currently retired f2p members, there will be a strong player base that would be playing on these servers. They have already said the updates on there would be minimal, so the costs would be very small to only run the servers. The added memberships (flat rate not the additional cost for the 2007 servers) would be more than enough for them to maintain and, in all likelihood, profit from implementing this option.

Edit: In response to your edit, the FAQ on the first page says that those who just wish to continue RS with EOC and everything else as is, are entirely unaffected by whatever updates in regards to the 2007 version occur. The extra charge goes to those playing 2007.

"To abstain from voting out of spite is just mean-spirited. " - The Speed Ninja

It doesn't have to be spite. I abstain voting because I can't vote against it. And I am against it because Jagex has better things to use their time on then nostalgia.
The entire world is bragging about cookies and Jagex doesn't even know how to use them.

@ANlMOSlTY

Are you kidding? Jagex knew from the start that they wouldn't reach 250k votes, because regardless of what they say, they don't have over 250k legit members.

They want people to pay $15 to maximise profit per member, however it will backfire as few few people will be willing to pay that on top of their current membership fee.

They would get so many more paying members if they dropped the price to $5 per month, and hence would make more profit.
Pity the glimmers of $ signs are blinding them to this fact.

Have you not read the FAQ? Apart from the initial set-up of the system (which wont take up much resource or many people), current Jagex staff/developers will NOT be spending time or resources on the 07 servers.
They will hire new staff with the money made from people paying for 07 servers, and that is it.

Next time go read about a subject before spouting crap about it, it really helps to know what you are talking about.

@Teked

This is what makes me laugh about the vote:

There are current members voting for the 07 servers, even though they will not buy membership for it.

At the same time, people that have quit because they don't like EoC are not allowed to vote, even though they would actually pay the membership fees.

Jagex are idiots for not understanding this.

If they had any common sense, they would allow previous members to vote as long as they have a certain amount of XP or total level to ensure they were genuine/main accounts.

Than*

First off, they have already stated they would hire a different dedicated team which would not be taking anything away from the main game.

Second, It's not all about the nostalgia, some people would prefer the more simple play style without all the extra content.

Am I the only one who is confused at why Jagex is trying to charge $20+ for a game that used to cost $5? I know they are thirsty for money and are desperate to make any cash from the post EoC update, but in 2007 the game cost $5-$6 to play and be a member NOT *20. The fact they think we will get 750,000 votes when I know for a fact not that many people play and/or will renew there membership to vote is not possible. What I'm not understanding is why they don't make an option for you to just be a member for the 2007 server instead of having to pay for both and waste an extra $15. If the game is gonna be like it was in 2007, make the cost the same as well because even if the servers are up, not many people will play because of the outrageous price and if you did make it a separate payment, you as a company would make WAY more money then you would with your current idea of having us pay for both servers.
