@Everyone raging about starting again and stating that Jagex will have to dedicate more time/resources to this project:

Jagex will be hiring on an entirely new team (Or teams) to tackle this project. These teams will be paid using the membership money we pay to access all of the members' benefits (As 07 servers will most likely be members-only access, just as RuneScape Classic servers are) OR by the extra money that members pay to have the additional access of the 07 servers. They *WILL NOT* simply hire a new team to help with the current game, they will *ONLY* be hiring a new team for this project.

Starting fresh is actually much more fun than one might think; you get to relive the noob days of being a level 3 and decide what it is you want to do. DO you want to be a skiller? A pure? A main? A tank? You decide! If your stats were imported from the current game, that would take away the variety and experience of starting fresh! Jagex is giving you an option by allowing you to start fresh.

As for rares, I think the most loyal players should receive a rare based on how long they've been active for (This may sound biased because I won a RSC account, but it seems viable to me). Other than that, simply dropping the rares randomly throughout the first week until someone picks them up would be a great way to celebrate the opening of the 07 servers.

@Lord Kourdi I'm pretty sure they'll have a dedicated team working on 2007scape specifically, so the main game won't suffer in any way

Edit: we've passed 70k votes on the first day... very good

I don't understand how you could not vote for the old rs, it won't effect Eoc, and anyone i have talked to prefers the old rs over the new, i have calculated an approx. of 1,984,320 members to vote based on the vpm.

I know i'm with this whole-heartedly.

This all sounds very promising! I hope we get at least 500,000 votes so there's no extra cost. I think it will be tough to get that many but idk. 2007 was before i started playing so im excited to see what rs was like back then. This is a unique experience going back in time. I dont really mind starting from scratch, it will be like a separate runescape almost. It would be funny if this version got more popular then the regular one lol I voted now i cant wait until we get the results! I'm dying to try it out. I'm curious on what they would do with rares, i guess we'll find out. Also pre-grand exchange will be neat. I can't wait :)

I don't agree with Zil. Although I have worked hard on this account, and all that, but, if they were to keep it the same how it is now, everyone would be rich. It would make the game corrupt. Starting over is a VERY good idea. But I do want the GE!
