That makes virtually no sense.
If they ask for a $15 subscription and lets say 30,000 people buy it, that is an extra $450,000 coming into the game each month. They say there will be basic maintenance at this price also so will hardly cost them anything to keep the servers going.
More money coming into the company will mean more updates for the main game & you guys who like the current game will get the benefits rather than a server that only needs basic maintenance. Sure, some of the money will go into the profits of the company but if Jagex has more money overall, they will be able to bring you guys much bigger and better content that will be available soon and quicker.
