I quit RuneScape around 6-10 months ago due to the direction the game was going (If you played "old skool" RuneScape then you can understand why). My friend told me of the possible return of 2007 RuneScape and I immediately got the feeling of excitement that I used to get when i used to log into RuneScape back then.
The game back then seemed a lot more fun and exciting, even without the fancy graphics. There was a lot more to do. Everything about the game was better in my opinion; Money had more value, it was a lot harder to come by, higher players were a lot more respected, you wanted to train because it was fun rather then just "botting", it wasn't as easy to gain levels so you felt a sense of achievement when you did. There was no overpowered items that divided the community. (Aug 27th?) AGS was the best weapon which made fights more fair, before AGS it was DDS, it wasn't like how it is today, fighting Torva/divine/yak with basic gear and summon.
i will definitely be renewing my membership and casting my vote for the return of 2007 RuneScape. Every "old skool" player talks about old skool Runescape for a reason... Hopefully the newer players will get the chance to experience what we did.
E: The "only member can vote rule" is a bit silly since a good number of members have quit due to how the game has changed. I imagine that a lot of people that are not willing to pay for membership to vote WILL get membership IF 2007 is released due to the amount of hype going on outside of RuneScape. I can't help but feel that this is just a sneaky plot to make a bit more money, after all you are a "business".
If there is only 50k votes due to the member only rule BUT you get a lot more members then expected will the cost of membership go down? Obviously there will be people that just sit back and let other make their accounts members to vote. Will it get any cheaper as the community grows or remain at $15?
