I have been playing since 2003 (Not on this account, but my main). I quit playing the game because it wasn't the same, the microtransactions, catering to casual gamers, ridiuclous graphic changes (Don't get me wrong, they look great, but it isn't Runescape, the new graphics ruin the spirit of the original game we all grew up with). It just isn't the same Runescape.
Runescape hit it's peak in between the years 2006-2007. Personally I think these were the best years as well, even though the game was playable til about 2011. If a 2007 server came up I would come back and it would restore some of my faith in Runescape and the head devs, now that they're actually listening to their playerbase.
Personally, I'd like to see rares in a similar fashion as the real game. A set amount released corresponding with their holidays, otherwise I don't feel like it's be the same Runescape, rares were always that thing you dreamed about and trained/merched/killed for weeks even months to get, was a really nice high end goal to have. Of course there will be many who disagree with me, it's just my opinion. Worst comes to worst have them buyable out of a store so they can at least be in a game, but I'd like my first option much better.
Another note, I won't pay much over 7 dollars for it, let's be real, there will be a massive amount of people interested, and once you raise membership over 7-8 bucks you will lose a lot of people because that's just simply too much for a browser based game.
All in all I'm very excited if this does come to fruition. And if not I obviously won't be returning to the game due to the current state it's in.
That's all.
