^^^Like you, I'm an old player, and I'm mostly here for the 2007 version as well... but what's bad about this? There are many things that truly ruined the spirit of the old game (incessant advertising, microtransactions), but I fail to see how this update is one of them.

Although I guess that Jagex are in an awkward position: the nature of RS makes it impossible to truly improve the game. After all, what made the game enjoyable (for us old farts) were precisely its bad traits: the clumsy graphics, the extreme time investment required, the lame click-and-wait gameplay, the illogical design. Who would dedicate an entire skill to the burning of logs, or have a level 99 smithing requirement for making level 40 armor?

And yet, those were its charms. They somehow managed to convince us to spend countless hours clicking stuff.

So in that sense, I understand what you mean... But we can hardly blame Jagex for going with the times. I look forward to seeing what they can do with HTML5, even if I'll be mostly playing the 2007 servers myself*

**;dr this update is kinda neat, good job Jagex

Maybe I'm different because I'm one of the old players, first time playing was about 8 years ago.

But I find these updates completely stupid and idiotic.

Runescape was the game i enjoyed throughout my childhood, and now the developers have turned it into a piece of trash.

The only reason I'm here is for the 2007 version. This game resembles nothing of what it was, or was supposed to mean. But I suppose thats also because Andrew is no longer running things.
----------------------------

Runescape already had a Bestiary once before with 3D models, it was BEFORE you even joined Runescape... So STFU and stop pulling random bull out of your ass like the rest of the so called 2007 vets who first joined Runescape when it was an already 5 tear old game.

Overall pretty cool! I have a couple of questions/observations.

1) On several characters (example: Air Wizard), there's a slice missing out of the face, between the nose and mouth.

2) I'd like to see the same for NPCs, such as Ozan and Osman. Will that happen?

3) Can we adapt the same interface for viewing our own character and equipping it or makeover?

4) Will we be able to zoom in to the same degree when this goes to game? I love seeing characters this close.

I really like the Bestiary and HTML5. The graphics style you're going for is unique and pretty, and of course, can already be seen in game but HTML5 makes it look fancy.

Maybe if you have time you could make a HTML5 map of the RuneScape. Right now the in-game map loads a very long time for me and is not viable for quick location checks. If you made the map in HTML5 you can later use it in the new engine as well, embed it in the current engine as a replacement (just put a browser where the current map is) and it could work as standalone web page so one could drag it to secondary monitors and the likes.

I like the bestiary. It hasn't crashed or been slow. The scrolling bar goes down too far though, I can't reach the bottom of the list. Also, it'd be really cool if the monsters were listed by level as well as alphabetically. Another feature I think would be useful is if the monsters could also be grouped by region. Like, a monster map??
So far this is really awesome!!!! ^_^

Runs reasonably smooth on my Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus, but I can hardly see this platform running more than a simple model viewer (the UI is horrid for mobile use). Do you guys have plans on making RS3 playable on mobile like this? Hopefully without dependence on Chrome for Android?
