Bestiary worked a charm although I did have a fair bit of lagg when using it and playing rs at the same time..
Maybe if I lowered the cpu usage of rs then I could run both smoothly. (only just remembered that now but shut the thing already so I try it another time) :P

Great update nevertheless although I was hoping for the quest :(

I have a suggestion for the bestiary. I was thinking that ,whenever I view a creature, it usually seems out of place. So, I was thinking that Jagex can maybe change the floor, or podium thingy, to somewhat match the terrain that the creature lives in. For example, when a player views the duck, the podium should change to water so it can fit can the creature's atmosphere better.

Have just tried out the bestiary seems to be quite interesting, the graphics for all the monsters is done well and nice to see all the different levels that they have. However maybe you could add a feature which would let you compare stats of different monsters.

@Qxard - To remove the java client is a bad idea in general**** still works on the vast majority of computers, this HTML version relies heavily on javascript which I can turn off in about 10 seconds and render unusable.

I'm slightly concerned about the apparent usage of local storage. I'm currently seeing something called "File system" containing 15MB next to the 18 cookies I have from rs (why do I have so many I wonder). This appears to be different to local storage as there is a differentiation between them.

I have to say, this is a step in the right direction. I always wondered how fansites could get better images of things when dev have access to the models themselves. Having said that, the bestiary seems to be lacking anti-aliasing. Is this a flaw in the beta, or a overall problem with the HTML engine?

Well, Jagex could continue to maintain the Java client after releasing HTML5, but I'm not sure that they intend to (it would be double work after all).

The local storage isn't a new issue, since the Java client is already doing the same thing. The game would be painfully slow to start up otherwise, and waste a lot of bandwidth too.

Feedback notes:

1. On the multiple pages for the Queen Black Dragon, the two modes that show her in
her Carapace forms seem to have a lighting issue, in which they're practically covered in a really bright white glare. I'd also like to add on this note that the texturing on her neck area in the Bestiary looks distractingly bad- in both either carapace mode and regular.

2. Certain N.P.C's are missing, for instance, Ozan, Ariane and Lucien. I imagine Lucien might not be there for reasons relating to spoilers, but why Ozan and Ariane aren't there I can't seem to think of a reason for, past that of an over-sight.

3. The Bestiary has an option to show attacks, how ever this seems inconsistent and currently unreliable. For enemies with multiple attacks, for example Tz-Tok-Jad, it only shows his single Melee strike, and yet with the Kalphite King it shows his Melee Attack and his Ranged attack-yet none of the others. If the limitation behind attack animations displayed is due to something like, all of the Kalphites Kings attacks being listed would clog the interface, then simply do what you did with NPC/Enemies of the same name with different levels and/or differences: put the attack animations under a Plus Icon that upon being clicked would reveal all of the attack animations in a down-falling list.

4. An odd graphical issue wherein the trees in the bestiary have a very small out-lining around them, that seems to cut through the NPC/Enemy being displayed, showing the skybox through them.

5. Obvious issues like slow-loading time and lag.

To all those concerned about the Java Client.

Mod Chris E posted on page 20>

"Right now we don't have exact figures on performance, but it's safe to say it will require a better computer than the current Java client. We won't be removing the Java client, so anyone with an very old PC will not lose out"
