Never got an answer to this by a Jagex mod so here goes again... I only voted to help the community get what they wanted. Although I cannot stand EoC, I have no intention of playing the 07 server as starting over does not thrill me.

Here's my question:

Since I voted for the 07 server, will I automatically have to pay the 5 dollars extra even if I never go on the server?

I've read all of the Q&A answers and nothing has come up thus far. I realize that the voting is not over but I'm not very confident that we will reach the 500k votes that we will need in order for it to be free to members. Hence, I would like to know the cost as I will not pay more for my membership than I do right now.

Thank you!

My keyboard won't allow me to type my credentials into the log in fields. I can click all the buttons fine, but it doesn't show anything typed, so I can't log in.

I'm on a macbook pro, and have tried on both safari and firefox to no avail. Help?

@eevie relax, they arent actually counting votes, they have intended on making this free for the members from the begging, vote is rigged goes up even when people arent logging in or off, will def get to 500k so just relax, and gratz jagex on a great marketing scheme :D

Although I probably won't spend much time on the "Old School Servers", I have voted "yes" to them on the assumption that there are many members out there that do want to use them and would prefer not to pay any extra membership charge.

Having said that, I can't help but feel there is something fishy going on.

1) Jagex have said that they need 500,000 votes in order to provide this service for free.
2) They have also said that there are sufficient "current" members to achieve the 500,000 "yes" votes without the need for ex-members (or new ones) to create membership just to vote.

So if 500,000 current members vote "yes" we get an extra free service.

Where is the money going to come from to pay for the servers and the new team? The 500,000 current members won't be paying any extra!

Logically, the answer must be:

a) Jagex can afford to give us this service for free regardless as to the number of "yes" votes from current members.
b) They have not told us the truth and need new members to pay for it.
c) There are not enough current members to reach 500,000 votes and therefore Jagex intended to charge for this service all the time and/or get new members.

Which answer is correct Mark? ;)

If there is another answer I have missed, I would like to hear it as I am sure would many others.

Hey guys,

Just to let you know, I've passed on the reports of not being able to log-in & not being able to type login details (especially on Mac). I'll let you know if I get any info for you.

RE: brutal lag - it comes with the territory I'm afraid. Naturally the servers are rammed with players and even in the modern game, response time can suffer when you consider all of the people initially downloading the new update data.

Hang in there, though - this is only early days and is certainly not indicative of how responsive OSRS will be in general. :)

Thanks,
