Yes, but the data was conveniently skewed. Only those players who were willing to try it, able to get through it, and hadn't already decided to quit were polled. The tutorial frequently had problems advancing for many people, who simply gave up after enough tries. Also, look at how many people have quit already, or are planning to quit, a a result of this. Statistics can say what we wish them to say, especially when we are able to control the sample population chosen. Perhaps Jagex should instead notice into which worlds players have logged to play. Beta worlds have not had a lot of traffic, short of those seeking the bonus xp promised for the academy. If it is so popular, why aren't the EOC worlds more crowded than the live game worlds? That's the more telling statistic.

I just have a question. If the lower foods will see an increase in price, will higher lvl foods like sharks and rocktails see a drop in price due to less demand? Being a cook these days have been rough. Not to complain much, but with the bots, shark prices have tanked to about 1/2. Now I just have 20k sharks in the bank waiting to be significant again...

By the way, I fully support EoC.

Experience gained from EoC worlds, at least combat exp, doesn't transfer over to the real account. Features are lost in beta (e.g****). There isn't much to do aside from getting a feel for how the new system works. I did that. I liked it. Now I just wait. Why would I bother spending time on a world where my actions literally don't matter? It's also better to get feedback from people who have actually completed the academy, otherwise stubborn people who hate change would rate the system poorly without even trying it.

What concerns me the most are spirit shields..
Im hearing all kinds of crazy things about them.
I know arcane is skyrocketing, but divine, elysian and spectral
are just completely crashing...are they really that bad in the eoc?

I'm not sure where to make my post but I really will miss the old rs and I'm not happy that beta is coming. I do realize there is not one thing I can do to change it's coming and so I will be forced to learn this new combat information, which is a lot to learn. The armor, weapons, monsters, food changes, prayers, slayer and a multitude of other additions and changes that will flood my mind all at once on November 20th. I still don't like my long lanky arms that hang down way too far. My game isn't really my game any longer, rather it's being taken over and will be a whole new game. Some say we need new things and yes we do but this is changing everything completely. I probably just won't do much combat after this update and if I do it will take a long time to re learn it. The economy was lost back when free trade came and bot companies took over the ge with their gold selling. And members bought the gold with real money only they didn't realize it would ruin the economy of rs. So farewell my old rs combat styles as I will miss you. Now I will be forced to say hello to Beta a new style of combat for those who think the game needed to be totally changed. I wish we could still have a few servers with the old rs on it. Is it possible to have at least that?

If you want the opinion of someone who completed the academy for more than just getting the XP, here I am.

I have played through the combat academy and I can honestly say, it is the most idiotic update JaGeX has made to the game (other than SoF and Solomon). I understand that people have played EoC and some enjoyed it, but more than half of the players who haven't quit already joined because of the simplicity (including me) that RuneScape offered. If I wanted to play a complex game I would play LoL or WoW. Not saying that it is becoming LoL or WoW, just saying it is becoming a complex game.

RuneScape (to me) is one of the only games left that you can AFK in almost any skill and chat with friends, even combat, which is completely reworked and ruined in the EoC. I do not want to button mash/ use momentum (which still makes XP worse) every ten minutes.

EoC is the main reason most of my friendslist (and I) have quit the actual game. The only reason I stay on the forums is to check up on the progress of the community and see some of the new updates JaGeX is making to the game.

Also, if players don't play on the servers, yes it can be because (obviously) they do not get anything in return other than playing on a 'beta' and wasting time on what soon will be the real game. However, most of the people I know have played on the beta servers and will not do the academy because they either find it too confusing or another way that JaGeX is forcing the RS community to 'enjoy' and agree to the update. For example, the poll at the end of the academy was biased. There were no options against EoC. They were all complementing the EoC and you could not skip anyway of the questions because you HAD to answer them in order to get the XP.

Thank you for reading this. I would like to hear your replies.

Mod Mark mentioned that it was impossible to have servers of the current RuneScape when EoC is released because it would be harder to manage multiple Grand Exchanges. Seems like a pretty lousy response to me, but it's what they said.
