I personally don't understand all of the hate going on here. I've had an account for years now, with membership off and on here and there, and I find that any update gives me an incentive to log back on. I often find myself bored after a few weeks at a time, abandoning my account until I decide to pick it back up again. However, with the update increase and daily SoF spin opportunities, I find incentive to be a more active player.
Besides, why bash on something given to you? Paying member or not, you get at least one free spin per day. I do not understand why anyone would wish to complain about something given to them. Don't we all know not to look a gift horse in the mouth?
In addition, the recent SoF updates appear to be occuring in order to interest the players more, catering to what they want. For those opposing the monetary changes to RS, hating the advertising/want for money, surely you must realize that in the end this is a business. This site has to stay alive somehow :)
In a nutshell, thank you, Jagex, for the SoF updates!
P.S. Cosmetics are fun- and this is a game after all!

^ I agree that cosmetics are fun, but the motive behind adding them on the SoF is wrong. Don't get me wrong: I enjoy the SoF, but luring naïve children to buy a slight chance to get a cool item is wrong. It money wasn't an object, I'd buy spins until I owned a Swagger Stick and an Auspicious Katana... but alas, money is an object...

Ah, so this is the shareholder's new milking exploit. Eventually this game is going to be in such a complete state of desrepair because Jagex and a former shareholder made a stupid decision to give a captial investment firm a controlling interest in Jagex. Great job. Really quite sad how the moderators are being forced into killing their game and company.
Oh, by the way everyone who is pro-SoF, you need to read more threads around the forum to understand the general dissent. Jagex is being milked for money by their chief investor. The investors decided to implement the SoF and other microtransactions to get people to buy them so they can make the most money out of RS before the game is destroyed and tossed aside like numerous other games they've had a hand in destroying.
Microtransactions and investment firms are the number-one killer of online games. It kills them -- literally. With the investors in charge, RuneScape will eventually cease to exist, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were in the frame of the next fiver years or so.

Looks like another piece of content that most will never see. I don't understand why I bother putting hours into the game when I can just spend some of each paycheck and get 99 in all Skills and cool cosmetics. I've never hit a Rare space, even after the update, so it seems like a wasted $20 for 75 spins, if you ask me. :| - Meranek | | My Goals
