I am in agreement with the above posts. I play runescape, because it is simple and fun. I've tried the Beta and find it way too complicated to gear up and set up for combat. I like the way it is now.
I think it's a little arrogant to state that RS designers and developers don't want pray to be a combat skill. It is a combat skill and we have spent time and money developing it, just as we have summoning. We have developed our characters and combat strategies based on the existing skills mix - to discount and discard this effort is treating your customers with disdain.
Jagex may be excited about all the new Armour and weapons that we will need, but the only winners here are the gold farming bots. How many players will be tempted to visit rswalmart, rskfc, et al to buy the gold needed for the new equipment and Armour? (just go to the GE to get the latest deals and web locations for buying RS gold) Honest players struggle as it is now against those that can miraculously afford ludicrous prices for high end equipment.
I would far rather Jagex had spent the time and money that this development has taken to finally get rid of bots. There are so many gold farming that the game is quite spoiled for many players. Suggestion: employ a couple of out of work school leavers or graduates to 'police' rs. They can spend all day hopping worlds at red chins, gather the evidence of botters and get their accounts cancelled - no arguments, no appeals. Do the same at all dragons - green, blue, red, bronze and kill the bots by cancelling their accounts. Stand in the ge and immediately cancel the accounts of the advertisers of gold selling websites. get rid of the sorceress garden bots who have made that minigame impossible for real players to train thieving. It's easy to do if u go online and catch them and delete them. Maybe you like their membership money - or maybe, just maybe they are undercover jagex micro-transactions.
