Founding Story

Truth be told, Serenium doesn't have some wonderful or interesting founding story behind it; a group of friends reached a point where they wanted to make their own clan and create a community, instead of being part of a restricting clan where a person was just another number.

I also really wanted my own clan dragon.... still working on that though.


Quick Rundown

As mentioned above, Serenium was founded to become a community where everybody can feel welcome instead of feeling like a statistic. We're not here to be the best; we're not here to beat other clans; we're not here to be as big as we possibly can be for the sake of being so. Serenium exists to create a space for anybody to come and relax with others of a similar mindset (to a degree... we have some weirdos).

In order to follow these ideals, we welcome players of all kinds be they PvM'ers, skillers, and yes, PvP'ers. We also have people of varying nationalities and hope to continue expanding across the globe!

Clan Rules


» First of all, I'd like to clarify that any and all rules issued by Jagex apply to this clan. Any instance of breaking these rules will result in instant expulsion from the clan. This also includes any form of scamming/luring/cheating be it with random players or other clan members.


1. Do everything in your power to be kind and understanding of others.

» Don't be rude.
» Respect the opinions of others, even if their views don't align with your own.
» Don't be condescending / acting better than others.
» Everyone is new at one point or another so do what you can to help new players.
»» If you are having issues with another member, contact a member of leadership through any method (eg in-game or external messaging). Do not cause a commotion where it could have otherwise been avoided.
~ Any instance of being generally disruptive towards other members will be handled on a case-by-case basis, ranging anywhere from a warning to removal from the clan.


2. Don't argue with others in clan chats of any instance, be it in-game or in our Discord Server.

» If people are getting uncomfortable or making comments about how you shouldn't be arguing, then stop what you're talking about even if you think you're not arguing.
» If you really have to continue with this kind of discussion, take it to a more private instance such as private messages or a friend chat channel.
~ Punishments for this rule will also be a case-by-case basis, resulting in warnings, mutes, or kicks based on the contents/severity of the argument.

3a. Certain topics can very quickly become heated, thus there are a number of banned topics that are not allowed in the clan chat. These are:

» Politics
» Religion
» Race/Ethnicity
» Sexual Orientation
» Gender Identification
» NSFW content of any kind
» Dark Humour (eg suicide jokes, disablism, etc)
»» If somebody has caused you to feel uncomfortable/offended, please screenshot where possible and as many times as necessary before going to a member of leadership instead of taking matters into your own hands.

3b. Lengthy discussions of IRL topics, such as the ones mentioned above, are not welcome. We're all here to enjoy our time in Gielinor, not continue thinking about the negatives of the real world.


~ Anybody who breaks these rules will be given a stern warning and further action (such as muting or removal from the clan) may be taken there and then based on the severity. These topics will more often than not cause offense to somebody, so be sensible and avoid them.


4. No Spam

» A disruptive influx of messages for no constructive reason is not enjoyable for anybody. Don't do it.
~ If the person is responsive, this will typically be handled with a warning. If it continues, it will result in either a mute depending on the severity of their spam as well as their cooperation.


5. No Begging

» Many people spend a lot of time getting to where they are in the game, so you can do the same.
» This includes any form of begging, be it for items or gold.
~ You will have 3 chances; if you run out of chances from begging multiple times, you will be removed from the clan.


6. Chat Language

» While Serenium welcomes players from across the globe, we do wish to keep some degree of consistency and understand. To this end, we require all members to speak English in clan chats and avoid using other languages.

How to Join


If you wish to check us out or join us straight away, then great! All you have to do is either:

» Hop into our Guest Clan Chat and either get comfortable or ask to join! All members have the ability to invite, so this is the easiest way to get into the clan!

~ Please ensure that you speak if you join the guest channel, otherwise you will be kicked after a certain amount of time if you are simply lurking.

» Respond to this thread telling us a little bit about yourself and what you enjoy doing on Runescape! Let us know whether you want to join and we'll get you in as soon as we can!



Requirements


In order to be as welcoming as possible no matter the player, Serenium has no requirements! It doesn't matter if you're low level, exclusively PvM, an Ironman/woman, a free-to-play account - everyone is welcome!

Honestly, all we really ask is for you to only join if you intend on playing the game more. The only true downside to being open to all is obtaining members who play for a day or two and then decide they're done with the game.

Also, while we don't make it a requirement, we heavily recommend capping at the Clan Citadel on a weekly basis if possible! Not only does it help the clan out, but the largest aspect is the great amount of XP and Bonus XP you obtain from it as well as the week-long XP buff which goes from 3% to 6% over consecutive weeks of capping!

Ironman, Free-To-Play, and Alternate Accounts


In the nature of welcoming all types of players, we are more than happy to include both Ironman and Free-To-Play accounts in our roster of members! It should be noted, however, that you may or may not be able to participate in certain events due to restrictions on your account.

Ironman Accounts:

» Certain content can only be carried out with other Ironmen (eg, Elite Dungeons)
» May be unable to partake in certain clan events
» You can carry out activities at the Clan Citadel, such as capping

Free-To-Play Accounts:

» May be unable to partake in certain clan events
» May struggle to run content with others due to major restrictions on this type of account
» Unable to visit the Clan Citadel as it is a Member-only feature, thus preventing Free-To-Play accounts from capping

Alternate Accounts:

» Alternate accounts of current members are allowed in the clan
» Alternates must have some intention of usage; fresh, unused accounts which are simply going to sit there are not welcome
» Alternate accounts of a person who is in a different clan on their main are not allowed.

Rank Progression


In order to maintain a sense of equality and companionship within Serenium, we have gone with a simple time-based system spanning a year to reach the rank of General. The ranks and their respective time are as follows:

» Starting Rank:
Recruit
» 1 Month:
Corporal
» 3 Months:
Sergeant
» 6 Months:
Lieutenant
» 9 Months:
Captain
» 12 Months:
General

We understand the concerns of those who want a progression system based on contribution, but due to the nature of the clan, all ranks not including administrative ranks are essentially the same. We believe rank should not matter in a community as it only sets people apart. This will not be changing.

Serenium Discord


In order to communicate outside of Runescape, Serenium has its own Discord server! This has proven very beneficial to keep in contact with other members and get to know each other better while discussing a variety of things. We also have several features courtesy of a variety of bots focused around Runescape!

If you are already (or plan on becoming) a member, please join the server! It is highly beneficial to stay in the loop and keep up to date with certain announcements which can only be conveyed through the utility Discord provides.
