This post is meant to act as a little PSA on how to report bugs, players, and off-site scams. Jagex currently offers players several reporting tools, and there's are as follows:
The in-game reporting feature
You can access the report feature by clicking the flag in your chatbox, which appears on both the modern and legacy interfaces. This will allow you to report a player, or fill out a bug report. Bug reports are fled when you believe a piece of content isn't working correctly. In this instance, it's a good idea to verify that the content is broken
before
submitting a report. Consult with other players and check with some guides, and submit the report (with as much detail as possible!) when you're sure.
This reporting feature won't work for players who haven't spoken, such as suspected bots. Instead, examine the player, and click the red report flag on the player's examine interface.
The RuneScape Forums
If you come across another player advertising a giveaway, or if someone offers you a moderator position, you need to report them! This is best achieved through the in-game reporting tools. However, if you come across a fake RuneScape website or a fake social media page, you can report it here on the forums at the dedicated
. Your post will be automatically hidden, to protect other forumers.
Email Reporting
Jagex offers an email reporting service, which acts as a catchall for player reports and reporting instances of phishing. Whilst this email service is no-reply, you can provide additional information as part of your email, as well as screenshots or video evidence that may help Jagex.
