Hi there! Welcome to the Spirits of Arianwyn recruitment topic!


Spirits of Arianwyn is a social/community clan. Our goal is to maintain a strong community where people can chat, hang out and have fun in a relaxed and respectful atmosphere. We don’t believe in strict requirements like mandatory attendance or capping. RuneScape is a game and we want our members to be able to play and have fun without stress.

Our clan is based around an elf theme and is named after Arianwyn, the leader of the Rebel Elves.

We have an active Discord and host a variety of events every week (all optional!) We also have a Tier 7 Citadel, but no mandatory capping requirement.

If you are looking for a great group of people to hang out with in a relaxed way, without a lot of demands and requirements, we may just be the clan you are looking for.

How to join?


In SoA, we have an application process that helps you find your way into the clan and bond with our members, as well as maintain a friendly and respectful community that sticks together. Our applications run through our offsite forums at https://soa-rs.com

Here’s how our procedure works:

1. Post an application on our offsite forums and get an invite to the CC so you can start bonding with our community. Please note that this does not make you a member of SoA yet. Then you'll hang with us for the next 7 days, to see if our clan will suit you.

2. After 7 days, you will become a Tylar Elf for a month. During your time as a Tylar, you will have a personal mentor assigned to you, who will help you with any questions you have and assist you to settle in.

3. After your month as Tylar is up, you will Graduate to Myrth!

There are no requirements to join, other than being respectful and following the clan and RuneScape rules, however, we do expect you to be around regularly.

If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to guest in the CC and ask away! One of our many helpful clannies will assist you.

SoA rank system explained


The clan member ranks in SoA are distributed partly based on how long you have been in SoA, and are a recognition of loyalty.

We also have staff and leadership ranks and have a broad team.

There are five teams: Recruitment, Tylar Mentoring, Resources, Events and Admin/Tech. Each Team typically has a leader (Eldar) and a co-leader (Lian) and one or more staff members (Arquendi). The Admin/Tech Team is the exception, consisting of only one person. Having a broad management team makes sure that there’s a variety of input to complement each other and to represent the clan's best interest. It also ensures that all the work doesn’t rest on a few individuals. Everyone that has been a Myrth for more than a month can apply for a staff position. Staff members are chosen for their qualities, not because they are friends with the right people. Staff members who show exceptional dedication to the team, can be invited for a leadership position.

Here’s a quick overview of our different ranks:

Eldars
(Owner/Deputy Owner): This is our highest leadership rank, earned by showing EXTREME dedication to Spirits of Arianwyn. This rank is chosen by current Eldars (Leaders).

Lians
(Overseer): This is a leadership rank earned by showing great dedication to SoA. This rank is chosen by current Eldars.

Adele
(Coordinator): This is a retired-Leader rank, but still has staff-level input.

Arquendi
(Coordinator): You can gain this rank by showing dedication to SoA. This staff rank is chosen by current Leadership through applications. All members who have been with us for over a month can apply for staff.

Voronwë Elves
(Organiser): Our Extreme Loyalty rank, earned after being in the Clan for 5 years.

Elendur Elves
(Admin): Loyalty rank, earned after being in the Clan for 3 years.

Sadron Elves
(General): You gain the Sadron Rank, or our Super Loyalty rank, after being in the clan for 1 year.

Athem Elves
(Captain): You gain the Athem Rank, or our Loyalty rank, after being in the clan for 6 months.

Myrth Elves
(Lieutenant): You gain this rank after being Tylar for a month.

Bael
(Sergeant): Retired members

Tylar Elves
(Corporal): To gain this rank, you need to go through our application process. If you are accepted, you become a Tylar. Welcome!

Applicant
(Recruit): To gain this rank, request an invite in-game from Staff after posting an application on our forums.

Clan Rules


Respect

The first, most important, and most simple rule is that you are expected to respect all clan members, friends, and guests. This means that you should NOT be derogatory (i.e., sexist, racist, homophobic, etc.) in any SoA Community.

If you feel you have issues or a disagreement with another member, we encourage you to be mature and speak with them privately. If you would like to talk to a staff member or clan leader about these issues, please do, and we will help to resolve them.

Follow and abide by all Jagex rules on all Jagex games/forums etc.

While in SoA you are expected to follow all Jagex rules and act honorably within the game. If you need detailed information about Jagex rules please visit the Jagex website and read more.

Gambling & Botting

Gambling is against the game rules, and as such those who host, promote, or participate in RuneScape Gambling will be exited from SoA. Likewise, anyone using or promoting bots will be exited from SoA.

Multi-Clanning

Whilst we are happy to have members of our community to be members of other clans, to progress through the loyalty system of SoA, and receive points and awards, you must have an account ranked in the SoA Clan Chat.

Requirements, Attendance, and Activity

SoA has NO requirements for joining or for continued membership. However, as an applicant or a Tylar rank, we do require minimal activity and communication to remain in the clan. After the initial one month Tylar period, we maintain very minimal requirements to remain “active” and progress through the loyalty ranks.

Retirement

After being in SoA for one month and receiving the Myrth loyalty rank, you can “retire” whenever you wish. We do not require you to be active all the time; we want you to feel comfortable. This means that you can remain a member of SoA even if you want to take a break from RuneScape and return to your membership of SoA when you return

Events


At Spirits of Arianwyn we offer frequent events of all kinds, so that everyone can participate in something they enjoy! Some examples are: skill 'n chills, bosses, minigames, competitions, treasure hunts but also forum events and Discord events like karaoke and quizzes.

These events are completely optional, there is no mandatory attendance. It's all about having fun.

We have an events team dedicated to hosting these events, but anyone is free to host one and we'll do our best to support each other. If you have an idea for an event but aren't that confident about hosting (yet), don't hesitate to talk to someone from the events team to help you out!

A place we built together, starting at Tier 1 and with the contribution of many elves, in April 2012, we managed to achieve Tier 7!

We then installed Flare, our Citadel Dragon, gained three avatars, Blaze, Periwinkle, and Squirtle and fully completed our Citadel with the best of everything! A true display of teamwork & dedication throughout the whole clan. :)

Like the rest of our events, helping at the citadel is completely optional, but if you'd like to help with upkeep and grab some free XP, please do so!

If you feel like checking our citadel, feel free to come along, guests are welcome! :)
