Like humans, koala fingerprints are unique to each individual. In fact, their fingerprints are very similar to our own -- so much so that they could potentially contaminate crime scenes!
This is thought to be because koalas seek certain eucalyptus leaves, requiring friction and sensitivity. Both are granted by the friction ridges that cause fingerprints.
