FROG TIME:

The SURINAM TOAD is an aquatic frog that's weird in a couple of ways. For one, they look pretty flat, like they've been run over with a roller a few times. But even freakier is how they hatch their eggs: The female lays her eggs, which the male then fertilizes and embeds into her back. There they wait, until fully formed baby Surinam Toads squeeze their way on out from mama's back. Definitely not for the faint of heart!!

FUN FROG FACT:

Indian Dancing Frogs are a group of species that, rather than croaking, stick their lil froggy legs in the air as a mating display. Also interesting about these guys is their tadpoles: these baby froggos burrow underground instead of just swimming around, and munch on sand to get their nutrients. This made discovering the tadpoles of these species difficult until relatively recently!
