are true, you can Google it ... Quite an interesting story really, about how Bill Bowerman (co-founder of Nike) got the idea for a new type of running shoe by watching his wife making waffles with their chrome waffle iron (he ruined it, by pouring urethane into it without spraying a non-stick substance on it first lol). He thought the grooves of the waffle iron would make a good mould using urethane for the sole of a running shoe (previously running shoes used metal spikes which tore up the track and reduced traction for the athletes). Hence the first 'Waffle tread' running shoes were born.
A recent scientific study showed that out of 2,293,618,367 people, 94% are too lazy to actually read that number.
