Why in the world is the puzzle in back to the freezer to hard. Am I just stupid? I've spend like 3 days trying to put the stupid colored energies in the right spot and it's like they always change and I cant figure out where they're suppose to go. Anyone figure that thing out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I want to throw my computer against the wall right now. I'm so annoyed

Copying from the post I left on your thread in General - good luck and have fun :-)

--------------

My trick when playing Mastermind (the game this puzzle mimics) is to choose a color (doesn't matter which one, I'm going to go with Red for this explanation) and plug in all 4 spots of that color. Depending on how many spots are correct, I know how many of that color are in there, but not necessarily which spot. Say there is 1 correct red to start.

Next, I plug in 1 of the original color (red) because I know it is there, into the first spot (doesn't matter really where you start, but this makes it easy to keep track), and 3 of the next color (let's say blue). I see that there is 1 color in the wrong spot, and that's it. I know that the red is there, so it must be the one in the wrong spot, and I now know that there are no blue's.

I now choose 3 greens, and put them in with the red in spot 2 (since I know that red doesn't go in spot 1). I get 2 correct, and 2 missing - the red must be in the correct spot (since it's listed as fully correct, not correct color wrong spot), and one of the 3 remaining is a green.

Next up is Yellow. Slot 1 is Green (to see if that's where the green is), slot 2 is red (because we know it's red), and the remaining 2 are yellow. We now have 2 perfect, and 2 right color, wrong spot.

From this, we know that 1 is not green, not red (because red is 2), so it must be yellow. 2 is red. 3 & 4, one of which is yellow and one of which is green (because green is not 1, but is in the pattern). You now just need 2 more attempts to try each combination and you should be able to find your answer.

I hope that this explanation on how to systematically go through 'guessing' the pattern helps, and good luck on solving the puzzle in-game :-)
Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?
