Hi Xanadeus, I've had to hide your first post as you can't "name and shame" here on the forums, as there's no evidence here to back it up.
Here's your post with the name removed:
"Right now in world 2 there is a character called [removed] pulling the shoulder cape scam.
These shoulder capes have GE price estimates way over the value of the cape. The estimate is 274 million GP.
[removed]is advertising that he only has one left (we can be pretty certain that's a lie) and he's selling it for 165M which at face value to the ill-informed and naive Runescape player, that sounds like a good price and hey, it appears it's such a good deal he's down to his last cape (sarcasm).
It seems the actual value of the cape is probably closer to 20 million.
Now my question to you is, how do we stop this? I report this and similar scams, and it is a dishonest scam. It is abusing a "bug" in the game or rather, poor design aspect of the game, that sets people up for failure. No matter how many times I report unscrupulous people I keep seeing them around.
I am assuming there is no easy solution and I have some ideas why this is a challenging problem to deal with but I say show very little mercy to people who are intentionally out to cause harm to other players.
This person know exactly what they are doing.
Also is this account a bot account? Is spamming text with some kind of macro allowed? There is no way this person types this fast.
Please find a way to discourage player to player trading. I can imagine there are many benefits to the GE tax, but one of the downfalls is that it encourages player to player trading. I would really like to see game changes that encourage the use of the GE and discourage player to player trades.
I admit I am not smart enough to offer a suggestion to solve this problem but I hope you have people on staff smarter than me that can help."
Just report in game please.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
