Open Launcher.

Choose settings in the top right.

Uncheck the box that says 'Run Jagex Launcher when computer starts'.

Problem solved.

But I 100% agree that this should NOT be default behaviour. That's just lame.

100% agree - that was the first thing I changed when I installed the launcher a number of months ago. Having it start on boot should be opt-in, not opt-out.

Gotta agree with Archaeox and Applejuiceaj - I did the same as AJ and changed that setting but I shouldn't have to have had. At the very most, there should have been a popup on first launch saying "do you want to load this at startup?" or something like that.... Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

This whole thing is too stupid. If we want a program to start on boot, we put a shortcut to it in the startup folder. We handle it in the operating system, not in the individual program. It should not be there at all in the launcher. It is a misunderstanding of how things work.
