For over a year i've been experiencing client problems.
OSRS and rs3 mobile do work, but my laptop client keeps getting stuck on 'loading application resources'.

Going through forums, youtube, JAGEX support ... nothing helps.
You pay almost 100 euro's for a game that is broken.

JAGEX, step up and fix these problems.

Jagex, keep doing what you're doing to make the game unplayable, because apparently people will continue to give money to you for something that they can't even use :p People love pretending to be investors and wallstreet bros!

OSRS and RS3 mobile have a known connectivity issue with ATT (likely mvnos). If you've bothered searching, you would have seen my recent advice to use the 1111 WARP app. Try that. If that fixes the issue, either deal with it, or complain to your carrier to stop blocking RS or the port it communicates over specifically. Are you also happily paying your carrier to block the game you're paying hundreds of euros for too?

If that's not the problem, then being a lot more specific about what you're experiencing could be helpful.

Every time I start the client it fails to load on the first attempt. It won't even start loading application resources, just stalls out.

On the 2nd try it does work and the game runs fine. Seems to me it should either work or it doesn't. So the client is broken. Bottom line.

3 different laptops over several years. If I was new to the game I would have bailed immediately.

That sounds like local or somewhere-in-the-hops-to-Jagex connectivity issues; I've never seen this happen.

I get that issue when I've hooked my laptop up to an external/second monitor. If I disconnect the external monitor, the client loads just fine and then I can connect it back up and move the game over.

I finally noticed a difference in behavior with today's update. Before today, the loading application resources stage either went nowhere at all, or went fast and smooth.

Now it starts off all wobbly like it doesn't want to load, but will do it anyways.

Many times I have thought this was fixed, but now I am hopeful. I have now done 6 loadings with the same exact behavior.

If this holds I will need to demand they make several backup copies of this version of the game engine.

Eh, it's back already. I reckon what happens is it partially loads on the first attempt and that is enough to get it through on the 2nd attempt.

It's super annoying and just makes the game seem broken. I can't be the only one. RS players have a built-in trait of blaming themselves for any malfunctions. And that is almost never true.

For the previous 2 weeks the above success rate continued. Like 90%. Now with the Necro update I am struggling to load it at all. Just set a record with 5 attempts.

It's a never-ending saga. Every update has the potential to change the behavior slightly, and the last 2 have been extreme.

How do you even explain something like that, it shouldn't exist. And I already know from this recent experience, it is an out of sight / out of mind sort of thing.

When it loads I don't notice anything, and it is soon forgotten. I look forward to that day, and I will make a point to say when it happens.

I'm always reminded of when I couldn't login right after the daily reset. It usually took 2-3 minutes to get in. Eventually they said it was only happening to a few accounts and they fixed it.

So automatically I figure there could be something 'broken' with my account. Even in my mind I don't speculate on what that could mean. But if there is a problem and it only happens to a few people, I'm generally standing in line with them.

Like the flashing login screen. They know what causes it. They know how to fix it. That's step 1. Step 2 is ????? and Step 3 is Profit.
