700xp per essence at soul altar. 525,000xp per hour. Over one million xp per hour on dbl xp weekend on one of the slowest skills in the game to train prior to this bs addition.

Whoever came up with 700xp per essence should be fired. It is COMPLETELY BROKEN and ruins the efforts thousands of people who put in thousands of hours to get 120 runecrafting (like myself)

Ive never liked proteans they have ruined a lot of the game imo

However rc is not one of the slowest anymore hasnt been for a while doing souls correctly is 500k xp ph so only 25k xp slower than regular method

Yeah, I brought 50 protean essence to the Body Altar the other day. These are still broken.

For those who might not know, when you bring these proteans to the Body Altar on a free world, you will be told you can use a higher-tier altar, which would grant you more XP, and you're asked if you wish to continue. Regardless of Runecrafting level (mine is 95, almost 96), this message should not appear at the Body Altar on free worlds, since there are no better altars F2P can use.

I sent a detailed bug report regarding this issue back when these new proteans were first introduced. The issue remains unfixed.

Not the most gamebreaking problem RS has right now. Still, it is mildly annoying. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!

that doesnt sound like a bug its obviously trying to get u the best xp possible even if it has to try to sell membership for u

Jagex is always trying to sell membership, along with anything else they think players may buy.

I have also seen the message Aslon Dak mentioned above. It does not state the free player can access a higher-tier altar if they were to become a member. Rather, it states they can do so to earn more XP.

Whether it is a bug, or a typo, or deliberate deception, this message is incorrectly implying F2P can use an altar better than the Body Altar. We cannot.

Intentionally or not, the message is misleading. It should either be reworded at, or removed from, the Body Altar on free worlds. I've been putting out fire with gasoline! ^_^
