I would put this in existing game suggestions but its kind of unserious as it would have issues with balance if this was the case.

But it would be awesome to have split soul with Melee, I could just imagine all the little cool split soul marks popping up. Would be awesome but I get it range needs its bread and butter.

Are you talking about Soul Split the curse/prayer? That works for all combat styles... Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

No there is an Special attack on the eldritch crossbow that allows soul split to deal damage that is 4 times the amount it would have healed; cost 25% adrenaline and is active for 15 seconds.

Its not very known due to having to sacrifice the healing from soul split and being expensive EOF fodder. But its special is still very strong and works with stuff like bleeds/rapid fire well.

I wouldent mind giving up soul split if I could use that with melee bleeds at the very least if I cannot use berserk. Would be helpful and fun. <<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<<><<
