I can't even describe the amount of sadness and hate I have in my heart right now. I have lost so many items from my bank, and i'm on the verge of tears.

Santa hat, blue/red/green hwe'ens, christmas scythe, meditation rest animation scroll, fish masks....countless items worth billions....all gone.

I don't even understand how it happened as I use two-factor authentication and never share my password. I take all the security measures I can, yet I still managed to get hacked and lose so much.

Does anybody know of a way to protect my account even more? They must have guessed my password, removed my authenticator, and removed my bank pin. And I wasn't notified of any of this???? No emails about any of this at all. I really think something needs to change there. Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

The items I have found that are missing so far are:

Santa Hat
Blue Hwe'en Mask
Green Hwe'en Mask
Red Hwe'en Mask
Christmas Scythe
Easter Egg
Pumpkin
Meditation Rest Animation Scroll

i'm now trying to re-add my authenticator, as I think it may have been removed, but i'm just going round in circles?!?!?!?

Literally says that it's managed with Jagex accounts, click on the link, brings me back to my account page on RuneSCape...no option there for authenticator? So I go on Jagex website....and only authenticator option is just support? There's a link let's click that....oh i'm back on my RuneScape account page again....WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?! Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

if it was removed, they hacked your email, and turned it off from there

make sure you only use the email for runescape NOTHING else.

it is also important to upgrade to the jag account. this also would have stopped this happening.

I’m not sure if the Authenticator was removed or not tbh. I know I used my Authenticator 3 days ago, but haven’t used it since. I also only updated to the new launcher those 3 days ago, as I haven’t played for several months. I just am really sad that I’m just a few months of inactivity, I come back to a raided account. I wish I had paid more attention to when the account was last played so I know when it happened. Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

if you had auth, and was hacked it would of have to of been turned off to gain access

or they gained access to your computer

even so none of it has to do with jagex.

But surely Authenticators aren’t removed instantly, and I only used it 3 days ago to log in. And nobody else has access to my computer or my phone as I use both to login. So if nobody has removed my authenticator, and hasn’t used my laptop/phone, I don’t understand how I have managed to lose all the items. It’s very frustrating as now I can’t even seem to change any of my security to make sure it’s resecured. Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

through email they can be i believe.

its why everything needs to be secure. jagex provide many features to keep our accounts secure. its up to use to use the correctly.

Ok that makes sense. But then, I have two factor authentication on my emails as well. So then that poses even more questions lol. It seems to me that two factor authentication on anything is less secure than it seems. Proud Gielinorian since 2004.

Its not perfect nothing is.

But again this may not of been the issue. It could have been they had access to your computer etc which wont need auth
