More MTX means more responsibility with said company.
I wish you were right, but sadly as more and more games are relying on MTX for profits, those who buy outweigh the ones who leave the game due to in-game issues. For jagex the issues are drop tables, dead content chains and content stuck in time(never updated to 2022, minigames are included on this list).
A single quest takes longer to design than a single MTX event/promotion, just draw a simple image and sell it 1k+ times.
Game companies don't need to create great content, they just need a great thing you would be willing to buy. save 10 hours? 5.99$, save further time and gain in-game riches, 45.99$ with our new bundle.
^limited time events...."I don't have time for this! i'll just pay the 100$" and we wonder why kids are on video games all day long.....games are a grind fest now.
"
You've been playing for a while, consider taking a break from your screen
"...You joking jagex? You made this event into a full time job....
90% of what games sell now, should be free in-game and unlocked via RNG at drop tables or quests rewards that you do 'on your own spare time'. P2W BS is in overreach, so is the limited time events.
I have events in this game, that game, this other game.....oh they thought i only played this game, reason it takes 30 hours...... JAgex - "We thought you were going to pay half your days wages to skip the event" clearly they don't understand the worlds problems atm.
----
I value runescape but jagex's logic skills and values in this game are zeroed for me. All i see is 'Full throttle of P2W MTX methods'.
^methods causing your kids to be addicted to games and glued to them for hours as they don't want to miss out on 'that item'...cause and effect.....I raise the red flag that this is a huge problem. "But mom all the cool players have that item, please it's just 59.99 and limited offer...."
totally agree, I end up purchasing many USD dollars on keys, trying to win these fomo promotional items. It's useless, just like playing the darn lottery, if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
I agree, most games now do incorporate MTX but it isn't a bad thing.
RuneScape somehow has made a league of their own of trying to scam their players into buying their MTX items, and simultaneously making their older good content incredibly dead and boring, just for players to buy MTX and enter into their MTX FSW servers.
Incredibly mind blowing to see a company like this sink so low.
Always think creatively, and you shall be creative.

They should've at least had some bonds on sale for this whole Black Friday deal, even if there was a limitation on the amount players can get discounted. Nope let's just get the cost of bonds up unreasonably high where they are no longer an option.
Even 3 bonds with a 5% discount and only once per year during a black friday event would be an epic deal. But something like that would never happen.
Think about it this way, it's more cash for the company
OR
more gold released from the game. Also, a lot has been going on lately, they're offering a bunch of things all at once.
Just buy premier for £50 once a year and don't worry about the rest... You can't really complain at less than £5 a month. If you get enjoyment out of the game, it's worth it. If you play 2hr every day, for 30 days, that's 60 hours. 60/£5 is 8.3p (per hour). I was reluctant to break it down like this because I don't want them thinking it's cheap, but it is. Paying for membership with bonds doesn't make sense to me (unless you are rich) as you're effectively selling your time for 10p an hour. I'd rather buy time from THEM for 10p an hour instead.
Bank slots on the other hand, that's a little bit 'grabby' imo and should be higher with prem.
- or let people pay gold for them to release inflation a bit.
- or increase the cap incrementally with quest points.

Expecting the next yak track to have all cosmetics locked behind premier pass. There could be a th promo where fayre tokens are potential rewards because they don't want to bring the spring fayre back (laziness). I'm expecting more milking in march and april with combo of th promo with a new form of token like a "leprements" where it's a st patrick's day th promo with token costing 25k promo oddments and they'll add more low token pets like the recent heartment ladybug pet and lovebird to reduce the supply of rare token probably a "clover aura override token" and then in april some sort of game update to the fort that costs a massive amount of supplies to drain player banks and of course another yak track themed around the fort with fort sacks or something like that.

Why are you guys so deep in the discussion of the intricacies of mtx and promotions, given thats how deep you are willing to go to negotiate, i can see why Jagex exploits you
enjoy your addiction and exploitation
I think you have a good point.
I dont know when this game decided it wanted to please everybody, but its an impossible task and a fool's errand.
Unfortunately, once that door is opened it may be impossible to close it again.
I guess its just easier to take polls and do what they think the majority of you want than to back off and actually use their own brains to figure out what the game needs.
They arent milking us dry Jeremy. Who is giving up any cash that doesnt want to? No one. If anyone feels milked dry, its because they are trying to keep up players with more expendable money than they have.
You cant keep up with people you cant keep up with. Might as well learn that in a game before real life smacks someone upside the head with that fact.
