I was going to start playing again but I saw the membership is raised, 6.99 GBP was the max I was willing to pay for this game, and tbh, even that is a little high. The game is worth probably 3.99 a month realistically.

I'm not going to be playing this game at the current membership prices, even if I "get a deal" on 12 months, that's 5 gbp a month and I don't want to commit to a year of playing Runescape.

Look it's just not that good of a game. I don't care how pretty you make it look, it's been the same game since Runescape Classic, the quests where garbage back then and they're certainly no better now even if you add fancy cut screens.

lol. how about you give veterans a discount? or let me pay just two weeks of your absurd pricing via fiat? or even better, allow me to purchase on a weekly basis.

I would say just buy a bond in game, but bond prices are being manipulated to unreal prices right now. bonds are unobtainable by f2p players now. current prices are 76mill and being manipulated by other players to 124mill.

Players who have continuous membership, i.e. who are loyal to the game, can indeed lock in legacy pricing for their membership from when they first started playing.

If you don't think the game is worth the membership cost, don't play it. Simple.

If you don't think the game is worth the membership cost, don't play it. Simple.

I thought I might mention that as someone that has played RS for almost 20 years I know this isn't the case. Granted I don't play every month of every year... but if you let your member lapse by even 1 minute any legacy or 'Grandfathered Pay'(like myself) disappears in an instant. However... It would be neat if Veteran Accounts could get some kind of discount XD. Wouldn't happen most likely but that could be something worth a moment's attention.

Do you have any idea how a 'Locking of Payment' could be implemented in a good fashion?

I did specifically use the word ' continuous' - there was a reason for that ;)

I'd still be paying the 2006 rate if I hadn't taken a 6-month break at one point, and then gone to premier membership for all the extras.

There is a grace period for the continuous membership to maintain the grandfathered rate. It's greater than 1 minute lol. Think it's less than a week though. I ping ponged through members and free play for awhile. The date next to my name is when the whole raising membership costs grandfathered rate became a thing. It's also when I discontinued my xbox live membership. Had to pay for one or the other at the time.

Best value is the premier membership, sadly even my grandfathered rate isn't worth it since yak track rewards require premier membership(forces us who are grandfathered at 5$ to pay more.

I do play games that offer same rate or more MTX than runescape but they are 'Free' hence why i buy in to the MTX. Jagex just triple milks the cows.

Runescape i pay for premier x2 for this account and OSRS account.

Fortnite i pay for x2 crew packs for my nephews account and mine, plus spent over 1500$ in skins since i buy all skins i like twice, one for me, one for nephew so it's 'fair'.

^fortnite is always free, hence why i support them more than jagex, to me jagex just watches battlepass style MTX and threw it into this game.

Old school runescape is worth the membership, RS3 on other hand is decaying itself with P2W and dead content chains so yeah prob only worth 2.99$.

Supply is in a massive deficit. you do know you can log into the same account on both games for one membership right? also you cant say osrs isnt p2w when i can literally make a new account, dump funds into bonds, and go buy all the best gear day one. then i can go use cheating clients to show me how to train skills without worry and kill anyone with top of the line gear i never earned. osrs is just as bad.
