I feel like the pin system is dumb. There should be a way to verify it is you through two step to regain access into the ge and bank if you forgot your pin and your pin will be reset in 7 days. Either that or after the two step verification, you get the option to immediately reset your pin for faster access back in on a pin forget.

the bank pin has saved many people from their items being stolen. it is far from dumb

The bank pin is a joke. Hear me out.

If you have 2FA on Runescape and an absolutely secure email account which also has 2FA. SO THAT'S TWO, TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATORS, you can sure bet that your account is safe.

If you accidentally give someone your password AND 2FA code you deserve to lose all your stuff. No doubt. We no longer live in the times where if someone gets a hold of your password the world is over.

and lastly lol you can turn off bank pin; and let your account security and email security do its job. Which is what I think I'll do myself :)
