hi, i dont normally get involved with rants because it seems that jagex really doesnt take them as seriously as they should but im going to really give honest feedback that should be addressed by anyone who has played or plans on playing long term and how this skill destroyed combat balancing in this game by creating new benchmarks.
for over 20 years this game has relied on the combat triangle to help players have multiple means of engaging in combat and in that time we have had new power equipment given to each tree to make each tree more effective for both pvp and pvm use. this allowed players to do what many of us want to know, how much damage can a player do with a specific style of combat and with the right load out. with the combat tringle it was fairly balanced. this style of combat is now gone and with it the real effectiveness of skills comes into question.
necromancy is a very powerful skill and it is also the most demanding out of all combat skills in regards to its requirements involving gear and abilities. which is why the rates of xp and damage should be left alone. jagex created an elite combat skill that forces players to engage some of the most challenging bosses, and enemies while also making this skill incredibly expensive and time consuming to train. the rates of damage and power of this skill obviously should reflect the demands required to use them so nerfing damage just makes this another burn skill. but now that necromancy exists that means the other combat skills will need to be adjusted for more damage output to match necomancy. which in turn now makes runescape have a power vaccum for effective skills. you cant add an elite skill then give it insane requirements and then turn around and make it less effective and change xp to make it slower but make it go over 99. either jagex leaves the xp and requirements alone or they adjust the rates of xp and the requirements you have to do both or nothing at all.
