Was alching in varrock, 30minutes into alching adamant plate bodies I realized the GP hadn’t moved and I’d lost 2 mil.

Will there be any compensation for this? No wonder the community is dying. I can most certainly find some other mind numbing grind focussed game to spend my time on if this isn’t rectified.

Alchemy of adamant platebodies isn't that high that in 30 minutes you lost 2 mil beyond paying inflated prices from the GE or other players.

Low Alch Value: 667 coins
High Alch Value: 1000 coins

Neither of those could get you to a loss of 2 million coins cause you're certain you're not getting any gold coins in 30 minutes.

If your coin pouch is full enough that it is counting in millions for example, you may not notice the coins going back up as you alch because it is not ticking over the smallest number that is being displayed. Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?
