IMO it would improve the game if JAGEX would improve and fine tune the exisiting skills and stop making new skills.

For example cooking takes alot of time. To make a pie you have to walk up 3 flights up stairs, have the materials and pots, walk down, walk to the bank, go to a sink, get a filler, make a pie dish, etcc etc etc, it takes a longggggg time and then the pie heals like 300 hp and a fish will heal 1500+ .... and the fish takes 2 mins to catch. Make that time pay off. There are a lot of roleplayers out there that would enjoy fine tuned skills. Please make the hard to make cooking items worth the time. The same goes for alot of other skills. I love this game and it could be so much better.

Focusing on new new new is not working. Fine tune and master what is already there.

Just my opinion.

I'm kinda neutral with this post.

As a skiller, I enjoy to gain gazillions of xp. The more, the better. Not going to lie. It's addictive as heck watching those numbers grow and although tempting, making it too fast (compared to let's say 2012, now it's in supersonic mode) and/or too easy (developing even more efficient-less clicking-less walking-less of the less methods) would only cause the opposite effect.

Not an expert in the matter, but balancing xp gains with a true conforting and everlasting sense of challenge must be one of the hardest parts of delivering a good MMORPG.

However, I would like to see DIFFERENT -not better or worse- ways of training skills. I do agree that cooking, fletching, firemaking or divination ("old school skill" doesn't mean dull and boring) could do with some improvements. Not all fast methods are fun and not all slow ones are a chore.

And last but not least, sorry to burst your pixelated bubble: making new skills has always been a core element, for many reasons. An important one? GAIN MORE XP :D

You say stop making new skills but when was the last time they made a new skill? I don't think they even made a new skill since OSRS came back and there's more than an entire HS page of people that have 200m'd all skills. They've created countless new ways to train existing skills such as winterdodt or motherlode mine while making 0 new skills. It's time bud.
